More About Coach Michael
I specialize in goalkeeper training. I have been training goalkeepers ages 8-18 on and off for the past 6 years in California at the competitive club levels. Specifically 1 on 1 training but group trainings as well.
I played on the California ODP State Team for 2 years from 2003-2006. I was the only goalkeeper on my club team that made the State Finals 3 years in a row and went on to regionals. I played at the collegiate level for Cal Lutheran University all 4 years. I've played in the top tournaments across the nation, from Surf Cup, to Disney Cups, to Nomads Tournaments.
With a new client I will start the first two sessions with specific drills that will allow me to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the goalkeeper. My training sessions are typically an hour long, and are heavy in endurance and agility. Sessions will start with a warm up routine of quick hands and technique footwork. Following the warmup, each session will focus on a specific area of goalkeeper: 1 on 1s, corners, set pieces, pks, diving, footwork, distribution and etc. Every session will end with fitness. I run through all the training routines with the client hand in hand which a lot of my clients enjoy.
