More About Coach Megan

I have coached kids from ages 3 - 18 years for the past 10 years. Starting out working with development camps for ages 3-10, I began coaching a full team in 2019 for two U9 & U10 Girls teams. I most recently have coached a few seasons at the high school level for both boys and girls soccer. I have completed my coaching training up to a Class D license through USA Soccer. I truly love coaching and watching my players finally nail something that they've been working on over several sessions.

I have played soccer for 21 years at almost every level possible; rec., club (local & regional levels), high school (junior & varsity levels). Following my graduation of high school I played 4-years at Michigan Technological University as a varsity athlete at the DII level. I feel my extensive experience with soccer has not only given me state tournament appearances, NCAA tournament appearances, and wonderful memories, it has also shaped me as a person and given me tools to achieve off the field as well.

A typical session is fun but productive. I'm a firm believer that there needs to be motivation and love for the sport you've chosen to play in order to achieve the goals you want. A combination of strength & conditioning, technical skills, and game-like situational practice, will give any player the pillars on which to grow as an athlete and soccer player. I'm an involved coach that explains as well as shows the proper form and way to do a new skill. Repetition can be your best friend when learning the basics and mastering a new skill. The first session will be a basic overview of the level of play for that player. Getting to know what their personal goals are as well as what they might experience during their upcoming season. With the knowledge learned during the first session, I will put together a session plan to target their growth opportunities, and strengthen the skills they have to fine tune their ability as a soccer player.

My 8 year old daughter loves working with Megan! She is a great help in coaching and developing my child’s soccer skill level.

Our two boys had a great session with Coach Megan. Megan did a great job of preparing a session that included both technical as well as tactical concepts.

Megan has worked with our daughter for two sessions now and she is amazing. She comes prepared on what she will work on with our daughter for the hour and you can feel her passion for the game through Megan. It really is a great pleasure to have her work with Raygan. Raygan has improved her skills immensely and it is building her confidence.

Excellent. Son is learning a lot with the personal coaching.

Megan did great at listening to what Victoria’s coach has asked her to work on, implementing drills to do so, and did much more! She understands this age and the transition of good players into great players! Yet keeping it fun!!!!!! So happy we did this!

For several consecutive seasons, Megan coached for Rapids on a contract labor basis. Whenever her name comes up amongst the full-time staff, she is always referenced as the kind of employee any organization should make an extra effort to keep. Megan comports herself with the utmost responsibility and professionalism. Her shining demeanor in this regard shows in her strong propensity to follow through with small tasks. Be it taking responsibility for a team or assuming a lead role in camps & clinics with 40+ players at a time, day in and day out Megan proves to be reliable, punctual, and attentive to detail. Beyond her exceptionally high baseline level of professionalism, Megan comports herself with infectious enthusiasm. Even in her part time coaching role, she showed a rare hunger for personal growth manifest in her expanding technical expertise. It was a privilege for me watching Megan in action meet or exceed measurable benchmarks over relatively short periods of time. Her comfort level managing people and employing soccer-related coaching strategies evolved rapidly, and I attribute this to her joyful growth mindset.
