More About Coach McKenzie

As a recent college graduate, I have worked primarily coaching at Boston College Women's Soccer camps. Through these different camps, I have coached a variety of players, from recreational youth players to elite high-school athletes looking to take their game to the next level. In addition, I have experience working with players either one-on-one or in a small group setting. Finally, from my own training with elite coaches one-on-one, I have learned great techniques and exercises from these exceptional coaches.

I have been playing for Sky Blue F.C. in the National Women's Soccer League for two seasons now. Prior to that, I have extensive U.S. National Team experience, playing at the U-18, U-20, and U-23 levels. I earned the CONCACAF Golden Boot Award at the 2014 U-20 CONCACAF Championships as the Leading Scorer of the Tournament, and I was also named to the 2014 U-20 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada. I have continued to attend national camps, most recently attending the Nordic Tournament in England with the U-23s.

As a three-time captain at Boston College, I was named an All-American, and a four time All-ACC honoree. I became the all-time leading goal scorer for Boston College Women's Soccer and set the record for most goals scored in a season with 20 goals in 2013.

I attended LaSalle Academy in Providence, RI for high school and was a two-time Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year, two-time All-American selection, and three-time All-New England selection.

I focus on four technical areas of soccer to enhance a player's game, including juggling, dribbling, passing and shooting. Simultaneously, I seek to grow and develop a player's tactical awareness of the game. I believe the more comfortable a player is with the ball at his or her feet, the more likely the player will be able to succeed, especially in pressure situations. Therefore, sessions will be high-paced with lots of touches, with breaks used for specific instruction. Private training is definitely adjusted depending on a player's strengths or weaknesses, with the expectation of seeing steady improvement over time.

Client Reviews

McKenzie created a training session well suited to my daughters skill set. She was attentive, patient and dedicated in helping my daughter achieve her goals in the session. Highly recommend

In just a short, and I mean short, amount of time I have seen an improvement already in my daughters soccer skills. I highly recommend McKenzie!

McKenzie was awesome my daughter loved her and we saw improvement right away.

My daughter completed her second session with Coach McKenzie and will be scheduling further trainings. Coach McKenzie built a rapport with my daughter upon meeting her and then constructed a high intensity face pace training. The trainings included ball control, foot skills, volleys and shooting. Instead of standing around, Coach McKenzie trained side by side with my daughter. The trainings have already helped my daughters confidence and the speed of her foot skills. My daughter hasn’t stopped talking about McKenzie and the trainings since her last session and is looking forward to further trainings.

I was looking for a Coach who could not only offer my 9 and 12 year old daughter's more ball touches and an extra practice session, but provide direction on technique, offer confidence building, and provide some inspiration as a role model. Coach McKenzie offered all of it. For our first session we worked solely with my 12 year old and it was a perfect fit. She was friendly, prepared, patient, and direct with all of her instruction. Corrections came immediately and as frequently as needed, no time was wasted and a lot was learned in an hour. My daughter got to work on all the little things a U13 NPL coach can't work on in a practice with 16 girls and probably should make some time for.

The best part is she was able to utilize the techniques that night in a game where it very obviously turned into much better first touches, more battles won, and more opportunities with the ball. My daughter is really excited to do more sessions with Coach McKenzie so she can continue to progress and get her sister involved as well.

McKenzie was amazing with my daughter. As soon as we got there they jumped right in. After her first session, she already said she feels like it was a huge help. She played in a tournament this weekend and her confidence level was so much better than it has been and her ball control was great. She also scored her first tournament goal😄 ty McKenzie for working with Hannah and having patience to do what you do. Can't wait to have more sessions!!

My daughter's last session with McKenzie was top notch. She has put together a training program that is individualized and challenging. Lots of great tips were shared. It was motivating and fun!!

McKenzie was fantastic working with my 10 year old daughter. My daughter was a little nervous before the session, and McKenzie made her feel comfortable and at ease right from the start of the training.

McKenzie was incredibly patient, and she took the time to pause and give instruction on proper technique while still progressing the session through several different drills.

I highly recommend her!

My Daughter just completed her first session with Coach McKenzie. Wow! McKenzie was well prepared with a productive training plan. Additionally she proved to be a great pre-session communicator and was very flexible in meeting our needs. My Daughter is 9 and we can't say enough for McKenzie's abilities to work this age group. We look forward to working with Coach McKenize again.

McKenzie trained my 11 year old daughter in Rhode Island over the summer...she was incredibly patient and engaging throughout the session. She maintained a high level of intensity while taking the time to give proper instruction. My daughter's skill level definitely increased as a result of the training, as did her confidence as a player and a person. I would definitely recommend McKenzie for any player looking to reach the next level!
