More About Coach McGuire

Been coaching for five years; acquired international experience in Brazil and Spain.
- Boys and Girls Soccer camp for ages 5-10
- Individual Trainer/Coach for High School Boys
- Collegiate Woman’s and Men’s Assistant Coach

I played collegiate soccer for four years at Principia College, two of which I was team captain and the playmaker (#10). I received accolades every year which included 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Team All-Conference.

Competed abroad at soccer academies in Brazil and Spain.

I spent one season playing semi-professional for the St. Louis Lions Super-Twenty Squad before I decided to play college ball.

Typical Session: Sessions will depend widely on what position the players play or want to play. All sessions will be methodically planned out so the player gets the most out of their training sessions. Every session will include the following:
- Dynamic Warm Up
- Agility/Plyometrics (Just a little speed work on a constant basis will improve agility)
- Technical Drills: Dribbling, Juggling, Passing
- Position Focus Drills: A player isn’t confined to just practice one position, but this just gives an idea of what I believe is important for a player to develop for a specific position.
- Forwards: Various Shooting Methods, Change of Speed/Change of Direction, Dribbling, Runs, 1v1
- Midfielders: Ball Control, Vision, 50/50 balls, Turning with the Ball, Crossing, 1v1
- Defenders: Clearance, Driven Long Balls, Corners/Free Kick, Organization
- Fitness: Agility Drills, Calisthenics, Anaerobic/Aerobic Fitness, Mental Toughness
- Cool Down: Static Stretching
