More About Coach Matthew

Currently- Varsity Assistant Boys Basketball coach at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Head 14 U AAU coach with Cincinnati area team.
Previous- Head JV boy's basketball coach at Washington Court House
Age Groups- Have worked with kids from elementary age up through college basketball players.

High School- 2x First team all district, 1st team all county, and 1st team all league
College- Played four years of diii college basketball at Bluffton University, elected team captain my senior year.

Ball Handling- Variety of 1 ball and 2 ball drills, focusing on coordination to develop confidence in dribbling the basketball. I would start with stationary drill then progress to moves off the bounce, with a heavy emphasis on foot work and hip level to maximize explosiveness.
Shooting- Assortment of shooting drills, ranging from off the bounce, stationary, and off every type of screen. Again, heavy emphasis placed on foot work and fundamentals.

If training in group setting, I would finish with applying something we worked on in competitive setting. Drills would obviously vary depending on the age of the player.

He is a great coach!

Coach Matthew has strong knowledge of the game and knows how to teach the skills to his students

My 11 yr old grandson could not shoot a left handed layup. After only 2 sessions he has yet to miss a left handed layup even with 2 defenders on him.Coach Matt is the best we've ever worked with after numerous attempts with other coachs outside coachup. He relates and motivates. We plan on 10 sessions.

My daughter just finished up her first session with Coach Matt - overall great experience! They got right to work with various ball handling drills and kept the intensity up throughout the session. Coach Matt was very knowledgeable and great with my daughter encouraging her constantly and letting her know that making mistakes is all part of growing as a player. In fact, it's important to make mistakes as it means that you're pushing yourself out of your comfort zone. I can honestly say that my daughter was exposed to more in this hour session than she was all of last season. Most importantly, she had a blast! Looking forward to more sessions with Coach Matt!
