More About Coach Lionel

I grew up in West Moreland, Jamaica a country very passionate about the game of soccer. From an early age, I was immersed in the game of soccer because it is a favorite pastime of my country as well as my family.

I grew up playing soccer at any chance available on the streets and the beach. At age 8, I was invited to try-out for Townhead Primary School Soccer Team for children aged 8-12. I remained with this team for two consecutive years.

At age 11, I attended Frome Technical High School and was recruited to play for their home soccer team for children under 14. I remained with this team until 13 years of age. Because of my passion, expertise and swiftness on the pitch I was recruited to play for the under 16 team at only 13 years old. I remained on this team for three consecutive years.

In 2002, I was invited to participate in the All Boys’ Da’Costa Cup for high school males 9 years and under. After graduating high school, I joined the Townhead FC, a division 1 Men’s League and remained with this team for four consecutive years and helped the team win the Wycam McNile Cup twice.

In 2007, I was invited by the head coach of Frome FC Major League for try-outs and joined the team for one year in the All-Island Major League Competition. In 2008, I joined the Beeches, Negril FC and remained for two consecutive years and participated in the All-Island Business House Competition and helped my team win the competition in 2009. In 2011 I returned to the All-Island Major League Competition representing Savannah FC and assisted my team in winning the competition and advanced to the play-offs.

I continued to played for recreation for my local team Townhead FC until permanently moving to the states with my wife in October, 2012. In December, 2012 I sought a professional local team to continue my love for soccer and was invited to participate in the winter league with Annapolis FC under the coaching tenure of Milko Rospigliosi. Quickly, Coach Milko recognized my athletic attributes and named me the Assistant Coach for Annapolis FC. To date, I remain with this Annapolis FC and they are ranked number 2 in the Red Division in the Sunday Unlimited League, DC League.
When time allows, I also play with a local indoor soccer team for leisure play on Sunday afternoons, and Friday evenings. Green Lighting, Howard County Men’s Division 3 recruited me to be a part of their team. Green Lighting is currently ranked number 1 in their division.

Coach Lionel is a great coach, he not only understands where skill needs to be improved physically but also mentally. He really focusses on what you need work on and not what you're super strong on, and he can see weaknesses you didn't even know you had. I would recommend Coach Lionel to all friends and family.

We were very happy with Coach Lionel. He seemed very knowledgeable about the game and picked up on what my son needed to work on. He did a good job of filling the time with drills and not wasting time. He gave him some pointers to work on before the next session.

Coach Lionel is improving my daughter's skills to make her a more well rounded player. The skills he's teaching will prepare her for upcoming try outs. I would definitely recommend him to other players.

We hired Coach Lionel to work with our son, who is playing up and competing with bigger players. Lionel helped build his confidence and gave him strategies to better track and move the ball. After two sessions, our son scored two goals during a tournament game. Lionel is responsive and professional. We plan to continue working with him for some extra one on one time. Heather B
