More About Coach Leigha

I have coached at the college level for 3 years at Vanguard University. I am the head coach at Trabuco Hills High School. As a college coach, we have won the conference once, 3 nationals appearances, 2 sweet 16 appearances, 1 elected 8, and 1 final 4. At the high school level, we were league champs my first year coaching!
I have been individually training athletes for 2 ears from ages 8 through college privately.

I was recruited to the United States Air Force Academy in the Mountain West Conference, then transferred to Vanguard Univeristy second semester of my freshman year. As a player, I went to nationals 4 times, made an elite 8 appearance, and made it to the sweet 16 twice. My senior year, we were ranked #1 nationally the entire season, only losing 2 games by the end, going undefeated all through pre and conference season. I had career high of 30 points against Masters college. I was an NAIA and GSAC Scholar athlete in 2013 & 2014.

If it were a shooting session, I would have he athlete start with form shooting from the front and both sides of the basket. Every session will be begin with ball handling after form shooting. Ball handling will include stationary one ball & 2 ball work, on the move ball handling, and resistance dribbling. The goal is to have them shoot game like shots, off the dribble, stacking the basket, pull ups, back to the basket, etc. workouts will vary based on the position the athlete plays, the the goal is to develop them into a player that can be utilizes at multiple positions. All sessions will have free throws and spot shooting incorporated at the end of each cycle. The goal of each session is to set make vs shot goals, and beat them each session, increasing the expectation each session.
