More About Coach Kurtis
My basketball experience spans across my whole life of 26 years. I have coached from eighth grade to seniors in high school. Also have coached collegiate girls basketball. I have worked in youth Asian league basketball plus City of College of San Francisco.
Growing up playing in AAU (San Francisco Rebels) as well as Asian League Basketball (Associates) from 5th grade through senior year in high school. I've won many championships with my respective teams.
First Team All City Basketball in high school as a Senior for San Francisco public schools, 2007-2008, Honorable mention 2006-2007.
Played 2 years of basketball at a community college (City College of San Francisco)
Competed against Damian Lillard through AAU and high school, had the chance to say that I beat him in high school. I have that grit and determination and can turn a good basketball prospect into a great player
A client can expect specific goals that he/she would like to develop in their game. Due to my experience in organized basketball, I can mentor the athlete and provide knowledge of the game. Based on the areas of improvement that he/she needs work in, I can put in time to make sure that particular skill is surpassed. I have a full arsenal of drills instilled in me by great mentors and coaches.
A typical workout would consist of getting the athlete in shape first. (liners, defensive slides, sit ups, push ups, etc.)
I would dictate their play by observing and formulating a schedule that best fits what their needs are (shooting, passing, rebounding, ball handling, defense). This would carry on for an hour to 2 hours. Not only about skills in these nuances of the game, it's about determination, pride, confidence and being mentally sharp which I would instil into the player (how to read situations, dictate tempo, and quarterback a basketball team. I have accolades online in which a parent or prospective client can look up.
