More About Coach Korey

Growing up I worked basketball camps with my dad who coached the high school men's varsity basketball team at Northland Christian School. I also coached the NCS JV summer league team while I was in college. I helped run basketball camps for middle school and elementary aged kids. Since graduating I have helped coach younger basketball teams (4th and 5th grade). I have also worked with middle school and high school athletes as well in summer leagues and basketball camps.

I played basketball all throughout my childhood, middle school and high school career. My love for basketball stemmed from my dad who was a college and high school basketball coach throughout the years. I played on varsity for four years and received MVP of the team 3 out of the 4 years I was on the team at Northland Christian School in Houston. I debated going to college to play basketball but had my eyes set on attending Abilene Christian University. However, even though I didn't play basketball in college I stayed involved in the sport and played intramural basketball all throughout college for the fraternity I was apart of at ACU, and I also got involved with the ACU basketball team.

A typically session will start out with a focus on the fundamentals that will help build good shooting form, confident dribbling skills and great footwork. After focusing on the fundamentals we will transition into drills that will simulate more in-game type scenarios. Towards the end we will work on using all the skills we worked on during the session while building up our conditioning. One of the most important things in basketball is being able to perform these skills while being tired and out of breath. Sessions will depend on the athletes current skill level. All skill levels are welcome!

My name is Kent Hart and I am Korey Hart’s father. I highly recommend Korey as a 1v1 Coach. The main reasons for my strong recommendation are described below. Korey has a heart to help others succeed. He is a people person, therefore he really enjoys working with others. Korey also has a strong set of Christian values, which translates into a positive way that he views, treats and works with others. These values also serve others well by the way he personally conducts himself as a positive example and role model to those around him. To me these are key attributes for a person serving in this capacity. Sincerely, Kent Hart
My name is Josh Dennison and I have been friends with Korey for 10+ years. Korey has always been a great friend, teammate and leader throughout our relationship. I am confident Korey would be a great one on one coach because of his experience, his attitude and his desire to serve. Korey is a great basketball player and has plenty of experience with the sport. His time as a basketball player and coach’s son will give him the ability to coach others well. I always enjoy playing with Korey because he understands the game and helps me improve my abilities as a teammate. I have benefited from Korey’s informal coaching ability and know this will translate when he is in a more formal coaching role. In addition to his experience, the positive attitude Korey maintains make him a great fit for coaching. Korey is passionate about high performance, but does not let this passion turn negative when things do not go his way. Turning a loss or negative performance into a positive future result is key when coaching. Korey will be able to make the most of these opportunities by maintaining a positive attitude and providing effective feedback to his players. Finally, I constantly observe Korey’s desire to serve others, which solidifies his qualification to coach. By putting the needs of his players before his own, Korey will help his players improve both on and off the court. I have personally benefited as an athlete from having Korey as a teammate. His experience, attitude and ability to serve make him a great fit for one-on-one coaching. Korey will make a great coach and I look forward to seeing his players improve under his direction.
