More About Coach Kim

I have been coaching for 10+ years. I have coached middle school and high school level softball among other sports. I have been a coach of a middle school city championship team and a high school state qualifying team. My coaching expertise is in pitching, but also have extensive knowledge in fielding and hitting. I am a co-founder of an athletic league where I coach several other sports for middle school aged athletes. I have participated as a coach for various softball camps ranging in skill level from beginner to high school level. Players I have coached have gone on to play collegiate softball at various colleges in the NCAA and NJCAA. I am a teacher in Pueblo. I have taught physical education grades K-12, elementary and middle school core content. I have a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and a Master of Science in Sport Administration.

I attended Otero Junior College and Colorado Mesa University where I was a collegiate athlete on the Women's softball teams. I was a pitcher for the OJC Rattlers and CMU Mavericks. Through my collegiate career on these college softball teams, we were 2-time NJCAA National tournament qualifiers, 2-time NJCAA District C Champions, 2-time NJCAA Region IX Champions, RMAC Season Champion, and as a pitcher was an All-Region IX Team selection. In high school I was on a a Colorado 4A State Championship Team, 4-year varsity letter winner, 2-year All conference selection. In middle school was on a middle school City Championship Team.

Sessions are 1 hour. Training sessions vary based on the specific target skill. Each session will include warm-up, targeted skills, and skill appropriate conditioning. Individual plans will be determined post-first sessions.

I had the great opportunity of not only playing witch Coach Sanchez all four years of college but experiencing first hand what her dedication can do for the game of softball. Coach was an exceptional pitcher with one of the best off-speed and curve-balls this former catcher has ever seen. Coach Sanchez knows more than just the X's and O's to the game of softball, she understands how to improve athletes physically and mentally. She is a valued coaching colleague that I rely on to push myself to be a better teacher of the game.
I was a volunteer coach under Kim Sanchez for Pueblo South High School girls 2015 softball team. During the season Kim was efficient in organizing and implementing well rounded practices that prepared the girls for challenges on and off the field. In the 2015 season, Kim coordinated a program that lead the team to be a 4A state qualifying team, an accomplishment that the program had been lacking. With Kim's background in college softball and acquired coaching skills I really believe that she has made South High School's softball program one of the better programs in the city. Off the field Kim made the payers academics the top priority, she frequently checked on the girls' grades and held the girls accountable for their academics, that is something I believe is most important.
