More About Coach Kimlonte

Certifications: USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, ACSM-Certified Personal Trainer
Experience: Sports Performance Coach (current)-Sports Reality Performance Training, Division 1 Strength and Conditioning Intern-University of Richmond, Personal Trainer-American Family Fitness.
Background: I work with middle school, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes in all areas of injury prevention, strength, power, speed & agility, flexibility, mobility and nutrition. I also work with adults in the areas of weight loss, weight gain, performance training, group fitness, and living a healthy lifestyle.

During high school I participated in Football, AAU basketball, and Track and Field. I lettered in football 3 years in a row from 2006-2008 and was the starting center my senior year(2008-2009). I played 2 years of AAU basketball and ran track during my senior year competing in the 4 x 8, 1600m and 3200m setting a personal record at the regional meet with a time of 6:30s.

A typical weight room session will begin with a dynamic warm-up in which we take the body through a full range of motion to wake up the muscles. Based on training experience and specific need, the first movement will be either be an olympic movement ( e.g. power clean), a lower body strength movement (e.g. squat, deadlift) or a variation of those movements. Next we will go into an upper body strength movement (e.g bench press, shoulder press,) or a variation of those movements. After, we will go into upper and lower body accessory movements. The last portion of the workout will be the cool down (e.g. stretching, foam rolling, etc.)

A typical speed and agility session will begin with a dynamic warm-up, then move into a specific warm-up that will focus on running form and technique. Then we will go into vertical jumping, horizontal jumping or both(e.g. box jumps, broad jumps). Next will be a variation of acceleration and sprinting drills (e.g. 5-10 yard starts, 10-25 yard sprints, resisted sprints). After we go into the agility drill which teach the athlete how to properly accelerate, decelerate, and reaccelerate properly and efficiently. Lastly, there will be strength and posture drills reiterating form and technique.
