Coach McMullen has been coaching NCAA Division 1 college soccer for over 3 years. He formerly coached the Men’s Goalkeepers at Villanova University for 2 years and recently joined Temple University Men’s soccer as an Assistant/Goalkeeper coach in the Spring of 2018. He’s a staff GK coach for NJ ODP, Lower Merion Soccer Club, and Philadelphia Union Academy. McMullen has experience coaching goalkeepers from Zone 1 youth to professional with the Bethlehem Steel. He holds a NSCAA Goalkeeping license, as well as a USSF “F” and NJYS “F” coaching licenses. He is also CPR certified.

As a former Professional player in Europe and Division 1 collegiate athlete, Coach McMullen has a breadth of knowledge to share about the Goalkeeping position. He played professionally in Poland and began his collegiate career at NCAA Division 1 SMU before transferring to, then BIG EAST competitor, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. As a three year starter at Rutgers, he helped lead his team in 2011 to an apprearance in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. That same year, McMullen earned Men’s Soccer Student-Athlete of the Year. He was also named to the National Team of the Week and BIG EAST Player of the Week on numerous occasions.

Goalkeepers can expect a highly thought out, individual lesson plan that caters to improving the GK’s specific weaknesses and targeting strengths to further hone them. The goalkeeper will be exposed to exercises meant to improve technique, positioning, athleticism, mental toughness etc. Coach McMullen will be fully invested in improving the goalkeepers abilities to help them achieve their goals.
