More About Coach Kelsey

I have over eight years of coaching experience, all at various levels. I have coached and worked at various camps and clinics around the metro-Atlanta area where all skill levels were present. I coached collegiately for two years before returning to Atlanta. I am currently the Head Girls lacrosse coach at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Alpharetta. I have worked with all positions, including goalie.
I am also USL Lacrosse Level 1 Certified.

I was a starting defender at Berry College, a NCAA Division III institution. My senior year, I was named to the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team. We also competed in the conference and made it to the second round of SAA play-offs.

A typical session will begin with stretching and warm up passing. Depending on the position that the client is, the session will be tailored to that. If the player is an attacker, we will work on cutting through the eight, shot placement, feeding from behind and the ride. If the player is a midfielder, we will work on the same things that an attacker works on as well as draws and defense. For players that are defenders, we will work on good defensive positioning, when to slide, and how to keep up with cutters in the eight. All positions will work on ground balls and accurate passing. Goalies will have an emphasis on footwork, hand-eye coordination and working on saving the ball. Sessions will typically last one hour.

Coach Kelsey was great in my girls first sessions. She has a very pleasant demeanor and seemed patient. She made my girls feel at ease and she listened to what I had previously asked her to work on with them. It’s obvious she knows the sport and is very knowledgeable. Look forward to our remaining sessions!

Coach Kelsey was a great coach. She was patient, informative, positive and kind to my daughter, who has never played before. We accomplished so much in 1 hour: game rules, technique and basic skills, and she kept an upbeat attitude the whole time. Highly recommend.
