More About Coach Jourdan

I proudly maintain extensive experience coaching youth soccer players in The United States for eight (8) years. My experience with youth players ranges from the U7-U19 age groups for both boys and girls.

My coaching experience spans many states and geographic regions such as Florida, Illinois, California, Utah, Georgia, & New Jersey. My experience in coaching so many different youth athletes in so many different places has provided me a solid and invaluable background of many cultures of the world. I currently communicate fluently in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

I have the ability to work with all age groups, as well as the passion and desire to help athletes identify and achieve their goals on and off of the field through education & training!

I have been a coach for the Atlantic Soccer Factory in New Jersey as well as a coach for One Soccer Schools - based in Santa Barbara, California.

I have successfully completed the coursework and received certification for 'The Coach's Guide to Youth Soccer Injury Recognition' with Sideline Sports Doc and US Club Soccer as administered by the Midwest Orthopedics at Rush and been certified. (This course is a Player Health and Safety initiative within US Club Soccer'sPlayers First platform)

I have successfully completed my SafeSport Training and have received certified recognition of completed training by the U.S center for SafeSport.

I am a former 4-year NCAA Division 1 student-athlete. I spent two years at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU, Fort Myers, FL) where I became a two-time regular season conference champion as well as a conference tournament champion. I continued my education and career at Mercer University (Macon, GA) where I once again a became a regular season conference champion.

During my time as an NCAA D1 athlete, I made one appearance in the infamous NCAA tournament.

I recently spent two seasons building my career as a player playing in Portugal where I competed in the Portugues third division.

My sessions are geared towards the players, their abilities, their needs, and their desire. I have knowledge and experience in coaching strength and conditioning training sessions, as well as sport-specific training.

From a typical session with me, the client can expect to be challenged and exert much energy. Some sessions emphasize education, where others will require a higher level of physical exertion.

After warming up, the session will vary depending on age group, player, technical ability, position, and perhaps other relevant factors. My goal is to maximize my time with athletes during training and therefore tailoring individual sessions for their needs and goals is how I run my sessions.

Hi Jourdan, I really appreciate all of the work you've put in with the boys and especially like that you're making them run and building up their endurance in addition to learning the skills. . . Thank you for fighting on behalf of the boys. You definitely put forth the effort and I can tell how invested you are in our team. Thank you so much!
Really lucky to have Jourdan Gooden as our trainer for soccer. He’s an amazing coach, but he also taught these boys discipline and respect. Here he is giving out the juggling competition prizes. Thanks for all you do, Coach!
We are lucky to have you, Coach! You’ve taught them a lot about soccer, but personally, I’m most impressed with how you’ve managed to teach them respect for you, me, their team, and themselves. That was NO small feat! There are still moments where I watch them completely focused and engaged and I think, Who are these kids?! Thanks for all you do!
Hello Jourdan, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your commitment to the U10 Fire team. Between both Cole and my daughter, they have worked with many trainers but I can honestly say none of them commanded a level of respect from the team while still getting to know each player, develop their skills and have fun. The time with you was a great experience for Cole. After each practice he would excitedly get in the car and discuss the feedback you gave him (both positive and constructive). These conversations were followed by daily foot skill practice at home. He really wanted to work up your expectations...this is a behavior I had not seen from him in the past. Again, I thank you for sharing your passion for the game with Cole and the U10 fire team. I wish you luck in your own games and am hopeful the boys have the opportunity to work with you in the future.
