More About Coach Jordan
I grew up around the game of basketball and have always had a passion for the game. I got into coaching in 2012 and began coaching 6th grade boys basketball for two years in Iowa. I experienced two successful seasons at 12-4 and 6-5 as well as successful 3 v. 3 and 5 v. 5 tournament coaching experience with the boys during the summers. It was important to me to help them develop their game in the off-season. I moved to Dallas in the fall of 2014 and was hired to coach at Colleyville Covenant Academy. I had two successful seasons at CCA, but more importantly, I built relationships with the boys on my team. In the fall, I will be coaching at The Woodlands Christian Academy in the boys program. Some of my relevant skills include:
Strong Interpersonal Communication
Summer Coaching experience with Breakthrough Basketball
Varsity Basketball Official
Well-Rounded Understanding of Competition
Classroom Management/teaching Experience
ACSI Certified
• 2013: Season: 12-4
• 2014: Post-season 5 v. 5: 3-0 (Tournament champions).
• 2014: Post-Season 3 v. 3: 3-0 (Tournament champions).
• 2015: 6-2 (regular season winners)
• 2015 Pre-season 3 v. 3: 4-1 (Tournament champions).
My biggest accomplishment is ongoing: Year in and year out my kids enjoy my coaching style, have fun playing, improve their skills and give their very best effort for me at all times. I take pride in that. Basketball is always about relationships as well as skill progression and achievement.
I desire to help athletes with the skills they want to develop. I want them to experience success and achieve their goals. I focus extensively on fundamentals, such as dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and footwork. I want to develop these areas of play one session at a time by using drills that will measure improvement.
