More About Coach Jonnathan

I have been coaching for the past 5 years at different skill levels. From players at the Academy level to, club, and recreational level. The best work and experience I have had was working under Tony Kees at Step Ahead Sports, there I worked as a trainer with many elite level soccer players and helped them achieve their personal goals in the Sport. I also got to work the summer camps for Cedar Rapids Rampage in Iowa, there I worked with kids from 6-14 years old.

Played soccer in Ecuador for 2 years. For professional side Deportivo Cuenca U18s in 2010, and Estudiantes (second Division) in 2011. College soccer at Robert Morris university from 2012-2016 and was named to the CCAC All Conference team my junior and senior season. Since college i have been playing professional indoor soccer for Cedar Rapids Rampage in Iowa in the Major Arena Soccer League.

I like to always include the ball in all of my sessions beginning with the warm up. I focus on making the player confident since that is the most important part of the game. To make the player confident I focus on improving the player's ball handling skills and help him/her get comfortable using moves and getting out of tight spaces. Warm up would be around 8-10 minutes with the ball, followed by speed and agility, technique, and finally skills (which mainly focus on quick feet with the ball).

Client Reviews

Jonnathan has been training my daughter this summer and she loves him! He’s very easy to talk to and can relate with her on her level. He’s always early on our training days and takes his time with her, even sometimes running over. I’m NOT disappointed in him at all so happy we found him!

Coach Jonathan is working with my 11 year old daughter. They are working on defensive drills, long balls and shooting. He is patient while explaining things to her and she is really enjoying her sessions! Highly recommend!

He was great.

Jonathan has extensive background in the sport of soccer on all levels especially on a more competitive level. He is not your average trainer. He targets the area in which he reads there is struggle, apart from previous trainers I did not have to specify area of struggle with a few exercises he was able to tell what needed to be worked on. I have seen great progress in my child’s soccer performance. He knows how to keep children engaged and is very patient. I am extremely satisfied with his work with my son Beto. Thanks Jonathan!
