More About Coach Jonathan

Former 10 year college coach. 7 of which was spent at the Division 1 level. I have experience working with players in a private lesson setting for over 7 years. In that time I have worked with players from the ages of 5-17. I have had extreme amount of success working with these players.

Two year Pitcher at Suffolk County Community College
• Played in two consecutive NJCAA World Series (2008, 2009)
• As a Freshman, tied single season save record
Two year Pitcher at Kutztown University
• As a Junior: 7-1 record with a 4.23 ERA. Lead team with 11 starts (2010)
• NCAA DII World Series Game One starter: 8 innings, 9 Ks, 1 ER
• Played Summer Baseball in Mississippi River Valley League (Dubuque, IA) in 2010
• As a Senior: 4-3 record with 3.65 ERA. Lead team with 49.3 innings pitched and 9 starts (2011)

First Lesson: I will let player show his skills to me for the first couple of minutes, after that I will asses where the player is at and what are the drills we need to work on.
Lessons after that: We will try and continue to work on the things that they player is good at. We do not want to just focus on the bad, in order to get better we must keep working on the things we are good at. The things that need work we will use step by step drills. I like to build up to the complete action by working on the steps building up to it.

Client Reviews

Coach Jonathan was great with my son, and we’ve already scheduled more sessions!

Excellent 1st session.

Our first meeting with coach Jonathan was a success. We like his style and technique so far. We are looking forward to see how the next few lessons are.

Coach Jonathan has been very helpful. The boys have had other instruction with other coaches. This is the first time that they have both asked if they could go back and have more lessons with Coach Jonathan.

Coach Jonathan is a great coach, he was patient with son and he did a good job. I'm very satisfied with his job

Coach Jonathan is an excellent coach. His coaching techniques are great. He coached my 13 year old son in the area of hitting and the catcher position. My son was very excited after the first session and could not wait until the next session. Coach Jonathan has great energy and is very knowledgeable in every area of baseball. Coach Jonathan's techniques, tips, and training program is like none that my son has ever gotten before. My son has played baseball since five years old and has played on teams including rec., travel teams, and school teams and Coach Jonathan improved him more in one hour than any other coach ever has. I recommend Coach Jonathan for anyone looking to take their training to the next level. Highly recommend Coach Jonathan!!

I highly recommend Jonathan Grosse as a Baseball Instructor/Personal coach. During the time Jonathon worked with my son Mitchell, both his hitting and pitching improved considerably. Jonathan’s possesses the ability to relate the technical aspects of the physics of baseball (both pitching and hitting) in a way that is age and ability level appropriate. His enthusiasm for the game caught our attention early on during our time working together. During the past three year, my son has had the opportunity to work privately with many different professional instructors, including a former Major League hitting coach. While all of these experiences where positive and had benefits, both Mitch and I agree, Jonathan was by far the best for several reason. Ability to relate and communicate effectively: has demonstrated he can relate to players just starting through High School and beyond. This is not something you can teach but is mostly an innate ability that compliments his knowledge and love of the game. Results: Combination of his instruction and hard work show results year over year. Better balls/strike ratio, more hits, higher average, and better power to all fields. Genuine concern for players success: is personal with players and parents/guardians. Asks about progress on the field and encourages players in a positive manner. Knowledge of what it takes to achieve goal: Can offer advice on what it takes to be successful now and down the road for players who have aspiration of competing in High School and beyond. Ability to instruct both Pitching and Hitting: Not often do you find someone who excels in both pitching and hitting instruction. We initially where referred to Jonathan primarily as a pitching instructor. I became amazed at how well he helped my son improve his hitting. Regardless of the age or ability level, I believe Jonathan can help improve any baseball player who is willing and eager to learn, work hard, and has the confidence in their ability to achieve their goals.
