More About Coach John

I am a former professional and college head coach, many years coaching on the high school level as well. Many of my players have gone on to play college ball and have had four former players go on to play professionally overseas.

Have had much success in developing players to their full potential and have given advice on college recruiting as well.

If you are a player looking to move your game to the next level and learn from a coach that has been their as a player and coach, then we need to talk. Ideally looking to work with players who are in grades 6 and higher. Will work with players aspiring to play overseas as well.

Coach John is extremely knowledgeable and has a wide variety of drills to hone in on the specific areas for development. Most importantly, he is able to relate to the player to build a sense of trust, which increases the impact made.

Coach John did an outstanding job by introducing new drills which created an immediate improvement. We can't wait for the next session!!

Coach John was great. We were looking for tips for an undersized big and John really delivered. Great workouts that were completed focused on what we needed along with drills and moves that could be worked on individually outside of the sessions. I also had a chance to observe John working with some guards and saw him giving them just what they needed as well. If you're looking for a coach to help your son or daughter I very highly recommend John.

Coach John had a really good understanding of what my son needed to work on in the first few minutes of his session. He gave precise and helpful feedback along with practical drills he could do in the gym or at home to improve his shot and footwork. I fully intend to sign up for additional sessions and would recommend Coach John to any athlete looking to improve their game.

From the very first session my son showed improvement! John is great with kids and is very good at providing feedback in order to motivate a higher level of play. I am very pleased with the progress and confidence my son has gained. Thank you!!!

Coach John has as much a knack for adolescents as he does for basketball. Observant, engaged, calm and skilled, he helped our son improve his mindset and his skillset. It doesn't hurt that Coach loves the game and enjoys watching his students develop. We highly recommend Coach John.

My son had his first session with coach John last week. He has attended several skills training sessions in the past with other coaches. What impressed me the most with coach John was his ability to customize the session to what we felt we needed the most. Typically, it is a cookie cutter routine at most skills training places but it was different with John. He did a great job of balancing the act of getting us what we felt we needed while mixing it what he felt were important skills for a kid at that level. We will be back.

Coach John worked with two of my children during the lesson and it was WONDERFUL! My daughter needed to work more on post moves and my son needed to work on dribbling and cleaning up his shot. Coach John did a great job integrating their two positions (post & guard) and gave them drills they could work on at home. I especially liked that he showed them how the drills could be applied to game situations. He also focused on their footwork and shooting mechanics. I can't believe how much improvement I saw after just one lesson with him. My kids loved him and felt great about the progress they made after the lesson. They can't wait to go back and we will book additional lessons for sure. You can tell he wants them to be successful and he pushes them to do their best. He has a great sense of humor and made them both laugh. They were able to have fun while improving their game.

Coach Windham is amazing. His coaching made an amazing difference with my son's skills. I found his knowledge and experience far beyond my expectations. As a former player myself, I was surprised as I was learning from coach even from the sidelines!

After just one session with my son, its easy to see why all of his reviews are 5 stars. Coach ran very specific drills to address my son's skill set and we were very impressed. I will definitely book more sessions with Coach Windham and highly recommend you do the same.

Coach John was a definite breath of fresh air for my girls! He actually teaches the fundamentals of the game which are sadly glossed over by most. His extensive background makes him the perfect resource for those looking to elevate their game in high school or college. We are very excited to have Coach John as our teaching resource going forward.

Coach W is the real deal! He is an "old school" fundamental coach that I have had a difficult time finding. My boy learned alot during his lesson with Coach W and with his continued lessons will go far. It is highly advisable to seek out Coach W and his expertise for your child. Thanks Coach!

I can't say enough great things about Coach John. We are a military family traveling from Europe across the U.S. and my 15 year old son needed some training and coaching between his basketball camps and college visits. Coach John gave him a perfect workout. He quickly assessed his skills and helped him improve his shooting and attacking the basket. Coach John provided additional workout plans and outstanding post-workout feedback. I highly recommend Coach John and will definitely use his expertise again the next time we travel through K.C.

Coach Windham was great. He was able to quickly assess my son's strengths and weaknesses. He was straightforward in his praise and criticism. He showed my son several new drills. Coach truly has an appreciation for the game and for young people who want to learn it.

Our son has had several sessions with Coach John to help him prepare for tryouts this year. Coach has done a great job reaching our son - helping identify areas for him to focus on, providing drill he can continue to do to improve, and using positive reinforcement all the way through. Coach John's experience is evident in the lessons and his interaction with his students. We would recommend him for any young player wanted to improve his/her game.

Coach John has been great with my 14 year old daughter! He takes the time to explain why he is teaching her the techniques that he is teaching her and when she does it right, he is quick to applaud and tell her "good job."

Great workouts! Seen great improvement in everything I wanted to accomplish

I have really enjoyed my sessions with Coach Windham. I've been to some summer basketball camps but learned more from Coach Windham in just 3 sessions than I've learned from all my camps. Finally someone explained to me why I should do certain things instead of just telling me to "do it". I joined a league for the first time and we won our preseason tournament. Basketball is now my favorite sport!

Coach’s passion for the game is only exceeded by his passion for his players. He goes the extra length to help a player reach his potential on an individual level and within the context of a team
Coach John W. has made a significant impact on not only my life but many others as well. Along with helping me live my dream of playing professional basketball he helped me mature into the man I have become today. The life lessons he taught me are ones I will carry with me and pass along to my children and the players I will coach.
First, Coach W. helped me to make the transition from European type of game to a more physical and faster pace style played in the USA. One crucial part to my success was the basketball knowledge that Coach W. possesses. Even today my coaching staff at the University of Akron has nothing but words of praise for his work and how he transferred his knowledge on to me because my basketball IQ is higher than the rest of the team. He is a great teacher and his love for the game cannot be questioned, also his dedication to push you to the maximum of your abilities would be his primary mission, so you can become the best player possible. This type of approach you would not have only on the basketball court but also in real life which can only benefit and help you to develop to be a stronger and more confident person.
As a recruiter, John W. is a keen evaluator of talent. I know this because he has helped me target many of player for recruitment in my years as a college coach. Also, as our game becomes more and more global, John’s strong international ties become more important and useful.
John W. is a self-starter, highly motivated and treats people well. John has a great deal of empathy for young people and an understanding of what it takes to be successful.
