More About Coach John

I've coached high school Varsity golfers and have given lessons to people in age ranging from 8 to 70. Lessons range from swing instruction on the driving range to playing lessons where specific shot types can be explored. Whether it's how to hit a low stinger around a tree or making consistent contact with your low irons, I have the feel and experience to be able to give personalized instruction.

#2 golfer on the Cornell University golf team Freshman year, Quarterfinalist in 2008 Baltimore Amateur, Hole-In-One on the 320 yard par 4 #13 hole at Francis Scott Key Golf Course in Maryland, 2nd place in 2000 Maryland Junior Amateur.

It totally depends on the client, their current level, and what their goals are. For someone just starting out, the lesson plan would start with the proper grip and learning basics of the swing, adding a little bit more each lesson. There are a few specific drills that focus on balance that I would urge the student to practice. I'm really practical and flexible, so whatever the goal is, we would design a game and lesson plan around that to help them get their desired results. Maybe it's focusing on 2-putting once on the green or maybe it's intermediate distance chipping. My style and feel for the game can translate to anyone.

Normally I hate my driver but John helped me hit it straight and pretty solid. I've improved a possible 4 or 5 strokes from his instruction and I hope to lower more. He knows how to help you whatever you have as a level or goal, and is easy to get lessons from. Like this guy but he might need to be harder or demanding for students. Easy and knowledgable though.
John is an excellent coach. He has really helped me align my swing and add a lot of distance to my driving/wood game and also hone in my short game. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He can really help you get to your specific goals!
