More About Coach John

I have played basketball since I was about 13. All of my achievements were through hard work on my own. I never had a trainer to teach me all of the fundamental skills in an intense, game like atmosphere. I want to help players get an advantage that I never had. I was 2nd Team All State in Arizona my Junior and Senior Year. I played in the AZ All Star game. I earned a scholarship to Lindenwood University (NAIA) in St. Charles Missouri.

I have 12 years of coaching experience. As a head coach, I led a school that had 1 win the year before I took over to a Final Four appearance 5 years later. I then had a 2 year stint as an Assistant at a Junior College where we made the conference playoffs both years. I helped coach many players that went on to play anywhere from NAIA to NCAA DII.

My sessions include an intense focus on fundamentals. Everything will be geared toward game preparation. I do lessons focusing on improving every aspect of a player's game including not only the basics like shooting, passing, and dribbling, but also footwork, how to use a screen, posting up, how to get open, leadership, mental toughness, and vertical jump training. The environment is an intense one that is only for those serious about taking their game to the next level.

I played there for 2 years before moving back to Arizona to get my degree in Education from NAU. While at NAU, I was on a team that won the Intramural National Championship at the Forum in Los Angeles against Kansas State.
