My philosophy for baseball instruction is that pitching and hitting are both individual skills, and that every player has a certain approach to each that best suits them. To that end, I work with each player's strengths, skill set and mechanics to maximize the efficiency of their movements to enable them to perform at a high level on a consistent basis.

From tee work and live BP with hitters to mechancis drills and live mound sessions with pitchers, each 30-minute (1 skill) and 60-minute (2 skills) session consists of a series of drills that focus on quality repetitions, provide variety in terms of different approaches and aspects of each skill, and reinforce the physical movements and mental tools that will help them build the confidence in themselves to be successful on and off the field.

John is great, my 8 year old is learning a lot about hitting from John. John is great at explaining the why behind the hitting drills he is teaching and my son really enjoys it

My 8 year old son just started with Coach John and it is obvious that he really enjoyed it. The one on one instruction seems very useful at this stage, and Coach John's style is working for my son.

We brought our 8 year old to Coach John for hitting and fielding, and could see improvement on the first day, both in his swing and his confidence. Coach connected with our son quickly, took some time to evaluate and then dove in with patience and encouragement. John's a solid instructor, and the kid is already looking forward to his next session. Thanks, Coach!

My 11 year old player had an hour pitching and hitting session with Coach John. Coach John was great with him. The areas Coach focused on were the basics that all players need to master. He also provided drills to work on those areas. Thank you Coach John.

My son (8 yrs) has done a few sessions with John now. He connects well with the kids and gets them engaged in what they are learning. He breaks it down for them to understand what he is trying to teach and how that drill will help them improve overall. My son has loved the lessons so far and is excited when the time comes to go back. His confidence is increasing and I feel he is better set up success as fall ball starts.

My 10 year old had his initial lesson with Coach John and left with some great drills that directly addressed fundamental issues with both his hitting and pitching mechanics. John definitely has the experience and know-how to help players improve their games. We are both looking forward to the next lesson.

Very nice not only as a coach but as a person. Enthusiastic and very into it. Definitely a great teacher, and wants the best for you as a player.

My son has been struggling at bat so I reached out to Coach John. He was quick to respond and provided options for availability that fit our schedule. He talked with my son prior to the session regarding his needs and worked with him for 1/2 hour. Coach John provided solid instruction and feedback. My son walked away from the session feeling more confident. We already booked our next session. Highly recommend Coach John!

I have known Coach Crane since 2016 when he began working with my Little League age sons. I have taken my kids to multiple professional coaches but they both responded to Coach Crane the best. My older son moved from a 7-8 hitter on his Travel team to batting cleanup and both boys have become dominant pitchers. I have recommended Coach Crane to several teammates and have seen similar results. Coach Crane has a professional level of knowledge regarding pitching and hitting mechanics, an observant eye and most important a calming demeanor which kids of all ages respond to. His simple explanations make it easy for players of all ages to understand adjustments and improve. I strongly endorse Coach Crane to any player who wants to get better.
I played for Coach Crane during my sophomore and junior years at Rider University. From Day 1, Coach Crane came in with a daily plan for his pitchers. He spent a lot of time in our daily drills such as dry work and really focused on solidifying our mechanics on the mound. I would highly recommend Coach Crane to any kid looking to take his game to the next level.
