More About Coach Jeffrey
I have extensive experience coaching goal keepers through my work as a personal trainer and goal keeper coach at summer camps. I worked with the Charlotte Eagles for three years as a coach during camps and for private training. I have coached goal keepers of all ages including college goal keepers.
I played college soccer at Campbell University where I led my team to the first playoff win since 2008 and was on the BigSouth Presidential Honor Role every year. I also played for the Charlotte Eagles semi-pro PDL team where we won the PDL Championship in 2017.
I start every session with a heavy emphasis on foot work. Footwork is the basis of everything a goal keeper does and therefore is of utmost importance. Depending on the age and skill level I will then work on specific skills such as handling, diving, distribution, crosses, breakaways, etc. and try to incorporate game like scenarios. For younger goal keepers I will try to make a game or competition out of drills to make training enjoyable.
