More About Coach James

I have been coaching varsity football at Newton High School since I graduated from college at William Penn University in 2012. I coach tight ends, long snappers and punters at Newton. I also help out with basketball in my free time. Aside from football and basketball, health and fitness are my other two main focuses.

In High School I started at tight end my junior and senior year as well as snapped PAT field goals and I punted. I played basketball as well as tennis. In college I was a 4 year letter-winner in football. I was the starting long snapper all 4 years and a rotated at tight end my junior and senior year at William Penn. I played football on athletic scholarship at William Penn University which is where I received my Bachelor's Degree.

Everything will start out with the basic fundamentals and techniques of what we are trying to accomplish. The goal is obviously to improve everyday both physically and mentally. We start with the proper fundamentals and techniques because without those you have nothing. I can't really walk you through a specific workout or plan because every individual and session can and will be different. We will start out with a dynamic warm-up to get the blood flowing and the body warmed up. Once that is done we will then focus on the proper techniques and fundamentals like I mentioned earlier. From here we will get a sense of where we are and we can start to build some goals for the individual. Each session we will focus on just about everything from speed and agility work, to strength and power. We will always do a cool-down at the end and figure out and prepare for our next session.
