More About Coach Ika

I coach at Barcelona United soccer academy which is located in Pickerington Ohio. I have been coaching almost 4 years. I coach U11, U12 and U13 academy teams. My U13 and U14 academy teams play in Ohio South State League (OSSL) and in GLC league (Old MRL league) U11 team plays for Buckeye Premier Elite 1 league.

I played professional soccer for 6 years in Europe. The team I played for (FC Gagra,Georgia) became league champions and qualified for UEFA Europa League in 2011. I played in both matches in the tournament against Anorthosis Famagusta (Cyprus)
I tried out for Columbus Crew in 2012 and played the reserve league match for Crew against New England in Boston.
I played 25 games in USL Pro League for Dayton Dutch Lions in 2013.
I was part of Georgian National Team U19 for the UEFA European Under -19 Soccer Championship and I also played in a U21 friendly against Belarus.

Training sessions are 60 minutes long and will be tailored to the specific needs of the athlete. A typical 60 minute individual training will be broken down:

15 minutes of technical warm up ( Foot skills, dribbling, passing, receiving, juggling, first touch )
20 minutes of application ( Movement to receive the ball into the space, receiving the ball with different parts of the body and then dribbling with game speed, changing of direction with the ball, etc )
25 minutes of game related drills. ( Volley, half volley, receiving the ball with different parts of the body before shooting the ball, execution different kind of feints to beat the defender and finishing with different parts of the foot.
Small groups and teams will work on passing with a combination play, defending and attacking such as: 1v1, 2v1, 2v2, 3v2, 3v3, and scrimmage etc.
