More About Coach Holly

I work with athletes across a wide range of age groups, ability levels, and training needs. My background in athletic development (as a former college heptathlete) has given me a large scope of knowledge and strong understanding of basic sports performance.
My coaching experience includes track and field, indoor club volleyball, outdoor/indoor sand volleyball, general speed and power development, and sport-specific conditioning. I have offered private lessons, small group training, youth camps, and team practices for elementary through high school aged athletes.

I have division 1 experience in track & field as well as volleyball (University of Arkansas). As a multi-event track athlete at Louisville, I was privileged with the impossible challenge of mastering 7 different events. My career highlights as a Cardinal include:
-All-American in the heptathlon
-All-American in the pentathlon
-ACC champion in the pentathlon
-School record holder in 6 events
-ACC postgraduate award winner

Session plans will be designed on an individual basis to meet the objectives of each unique athlete. To maximize your time and effort, practice will be largely directed by factors such as current level, areas of weakness, specific goals, etc. Each practice may be different, but the athlete can always expect to work hard and get better!
As an example, a typical speed session may include exercises such as sprint form drills, accelerations (resisted, incline, etc.), plyometrics, hurdle jumps, and med ball work. A conditioning-focused practice may include continuous body strength exercises, HIIT circuits, and running longer intervals. Athletes seeking to improve technique can expect more event-specific drills, systematic objectives, and constructive feedback.
I strive to maintain a consistent practice atmosphere. High energy and competitiveness are very important aspects for me. Other focuses will be on maintainable progress, fundamentals, and positive reinforcement. I want the athlete to leave practice with a new skill/drill/concept.. and with even more motivation for their athletic goals!
