More About Coach Grace

Today, I have over 16 years of Club/Select Soccer Playing Experience which includes 7+ years on Texas Spirit '91 Red in the Lake Highlands Girls Classic League. Also in the LHGCL, I played for the Dallas Texans '91 White and Corinthians '91. In 2003, I qualified for the 90' ODP State Team and participated in the Region Camp that year.

In the Fall of 2009, I was granted an Academic/Athletic Scholarship to attend Texas Woman's University and play on their NCAA DII Soccer Team. I played all 4 years on scholarship, was awarded Most Versatile Player of the Year Award, and was elected as Team Leader/Captain my senior year.

As a full-time student athlete, I worked 3 jobs to sustain living because I had no other means. My jobs included: Swim Instructor, Assistant/Head Swim Coach, Individual/Team/Goalkeeper trainer and youth soccer coach. Today I have accumulated 8 years of coaching experience at competitive levels in both soccer and swimming.

Out of all my coaching positions, my favorite and most influential position started in college when I got the opportunity to coach youth soccer. To this day I still believe it is the best job in the world and I have some of the best athletes in the area.

I competed in the NCAA DII in all 4 years of my undergraduate degree, while attending Texas Woman's University. While at TWU I was awarded with the Most Versitile Player Award and was elected as a Team Leader/Team Captain my senior year.

Since graduating, I have continuously participated in both indoor/outdoor leagues in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I have played in the top division of the North Texas Woman's Soccer Association, and have contributed to several team championships at both Blue Sky-Keller and Game On-White Settlement. This past summer I had the opportunity to travel with my Dallas Police Department Soccer Team to compete in the U.S. Police and Fire Games.

Even today, soccer is one of the most significant parts of my life and I look forward to sharing that with youth soccer players in the area.

As a youth soccer coach, the very first thing I do is provide the athlete's family with a questionnaire that covers the basic information of the athlete then goes into more specific questions regarding their expectations of a coach.

The initial assessments on the individuals, team, and/or small groups are used to determine the development levels and physical skills of the athletes. I then create individual specific and team specific lesson plans, making sure I discuss my plan with the families so that all expectations are communicated beforehand.

I conduct group and individual goalkeeping, foot skills, and shooting sessions for all ages and levels. I provide sessions for both those seeking basic fundamentals and also those who are needing fine tuning before a big tournament or college tryout. At my sessions I make sure that I have all equipment I need to run the session, I just ask that the athlete brings a ball, wears cleats, shin guards, and has a full water bottle.

Our first experience with Coach Grace was excellent! My daughter felt like she connected with her right away and we will continue to work with her, we know that Coach Grace can get our daughter to be at the level of confidence that she needs.

Wow! The most thorough and complete assessment I have ever had from a trainer. She took time to really evaluate and plan action for my daughter. I am seriously impressed. She is tough but kind; serious but motivating; knowledgeable but approachable; sincere in her desire to improve the game for my daughter!

Our first session with coach Grace was awesome and met all expectations. Our daughter loved it and is looking for her next sessions. Grace was very patience and clear as she provided a first evaluation on what she saw and what we should work on. We cannot wait to see how our daughter gains confidence, improve skills and love soccer even more.

Coach Grace was fabulous from the get-go! Her communication leading up to our first meeting was great! She responded and replied in a very timely manner and her messages, instructions, and directions were detailed and clear. My daughter was a little shy when she arrived, but Coach Grace made her feel at ease right away! They spent a little over an hour together in their evaluation and my daughter had no idea it was an "assessment" - she laughed and had so much fun playing and learning with Coach Grace. When we left, my daughter said, "I wanna play with her every day!" And like her communication, her evaluation and recommended goals were completed in a timely manner - all written clearly enough for those without soccer experience to understand. My daughter can't wait for her next lesson with Coach Grace!

We found Coach Grace through CoachUp to help our 9-year-old daughter with core skills. She’s playing on a good team with a good coach that has some 10-year-olds and we felt she would enjoy the game more with some supplemental coaching.

Coach Grace was fully prepared when we arrived - the skills area had cones, a ladder and mini nets already setup. She conducted an evaluation and indicated where she would focus based on our daughter’s specific abilities. Our daughter responded very well to coach Grace who gave instructions clearly with demonstrations. She is a patient coach who gives lots of encouragement while running a session that was focused and energetic. No standing around!

At the end of the evaluation session our daughter commented that she liked Coach Grace and told us about the things she did and that she was kicking the ball better for corners and goal kicks.

We subsequently set up a training plan with Coach Grace to focus on specifics over the next few weeks and are glad that we did!

Coach Grace is awesome she pays attention to the details needed to help my daughter advance in her skill. She pointed out areas of opportunity to fine tune and further develop. I can’t wait to continue sessions with her!

My daughter just finished her first training session with Coach Grace, and not even 3 hours later at her game, she made a save in goal that she never would have made before. Highly recommend!

Great attention to detail and we will be back for a lot more. My daughter is slow to warm up to people and Coach Grace quickly gained her respect and, even after just the first session, is picking up new skills. I don’t know how she did it - there are a couple moves my daughter has been coached on, but never seemed to understand. First try with Coach Grace and she has them down. I am looking forward to watching my daughter advance her game to the next level with Coach Grace’s help.

Excellent job coach Grace.

So exciting to see such a positive improvement in just one session. Coach Grace was so motivating and supportive and is exactly what our daughter needed to help build her confidence in her game. Can’t wait to continue our sessions and see her growth! She pushes where she knows she can and our daughter is already excited to schedule her next training!

Great first experience with Coach Grace. My daughter and I are looking forward to the next workout/training session.

Coach Grace was super awesome with my child. She took time to explain techniques in a way my daughter could understand and learn. Coach is excellent at her job and I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Challenging workout with positive guidance and instruction. Just what my girls were looking for!
