More About Coach Georgia

US Lacrosse Level 1 Certified Coach. I began my coaching experience in 2011 and have loved sharing my passion for the game with the next generation of great lacrosse players. Since 2011, I have coached multiple teams ranging in age and skillset from kindergarteners up to the high school level. I have coached relaxed recreational leagues where the goal is to have fun, but I have also coached NCAA Divison II clinics where skill improvement is the focus. Each level comes with different challenges and needs but the game of lacrosse can always come down to one thing; Fundamentals. In my seven years as a lacrosse coach I have developed fun but effective drills for all ages that will increase skill level overall and max out your Lax IQ.

I started playing lacrosse during my sophomore year of high school in 2010. I made the varsity team as a first-year player and was selected for the Southern Colorado All-Star team 2 years in a row. After high school, I continued my lacrosse career at a NCAA Division II university where I walked onto the team after an open tryout. I was named to the travel roster and worked my way up to a starting defensive role by the end of the season. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury and the following surgery forced me to end my collegiate career after just one season, but I remained active within the lacrosse community. I started my lacrosse journey much later than most who play at the college level but it shows that no matter when you start, you can improve your skills to play among the best. I take that mindset into all of my training sessions.

A typical session with me will focus on fundamentals and your Lax IQ, which is the ability to read and understand that game as it's happening. I work with newer players on all aspects of the game, such as stick skills, understanding the game, attacking the goal, and defense, but my expertise is in defense and footwork. I also focus on quick speed which is the ability to beat another player off the line and create the space needed in a game. I bring my stick to every training sessions so you will get a feel for actually throwing and catching from another player as well as one-on-one drill experience. All sessions will include some form of cardio, fundamental skills, and footwork.
