More About Coach Gabriel

I've coached and trained athletes ages 5-18 for 4 years. I've coached recreational league teams for kids from kindergarten to 8th grade. While also training high school basketball players. I've also assisted in coaching the varsity basketball team for pioneer high school as well as Bellflower high school. In my time coaching high school basketball, I've won two league championships, along with a city championship while coaching at cheviot hills recreational center.

I played 4 years of high school basketball at the varsity level and 1 year at the college level. I won freshman of the year for my conference at west LA college and also took home the conference championship for the western states conference.

I do 90 minute sessions and like to focus on three aspects of the athlete's game per session. For example, one session may be 30 minutes of dribbling, 30 minutes of fundamentals, and 30 minutes of shooting. I like to work on all aspects of a players game that way they have no weaknesses. I also like to evaluate the athlete's game and give hem tips on what they should work on in there spare time to encourage growth on their own time as well as during training sessions. Before I write up a session plan, I like to speak with the athlete that way I know what they're most confident in and what they feel needs the most improvement. After we've pointed out strength's and weaknesses, I like to work on two weaknesses and one strength per session.

Client Reviews

Gabe was great - really took time to break footwork down with me, was patient and clear. Would definitely recommend.

Both of my sons train with Gabe and it's amazing to see the growth they've made since they started. He's really good with my kids and I've seen how he has helped them both on and off of the court. Not only has he been a great coach but also a role model.
My daughter trained with Gabriel in preparation for her first year of basketball. She has grown tremendously as a player since she first started training.
Gabriel really paid attention to what my son needed and helped him improve in his weak spots. He was a big reason my son made varsity as a sophomore.
