More About Coach Gabby

I coached high school varsity soccer for Oak Hall School in Gainesville, FL. I also have worked University of Florida Women’s Soccer camps the past two years. On top of working camps, I also have individually trained girls from ages 6-17 years old.

I played division 1 soccer for four years. First, at the University of Georgia for 2 years and 3 years at the University of Florida. I am a three time 1st Team All SEC Member and was an All-American in 2017. I was also a member of the US U23 Women’s National Team from 2015-2017. I currently play professionally for the Portland Thorns. This will be my third year as a professional and my second year with the Thorns!

A typical session would include a 10 minute warm up, which would include technical drills, small touches, volleys. Depending on the age and experience of the player we would move into more advanced technical drills which would include 1v1 attacking moves and 1v1 defending basics. The most important part of all my sessions will be correct technique. Making sure the player is using the correct part of the foot and making sure the basic technique is achieved. We would then work on passing accuracy and pace of the passes. Using the inside, outside, laces, etc. At the end we would work on going to goal and shooting basics. This would include work in using laces, inside of the foot, getting comfortable shooting with both left and right foot. Depending on what position the player plays will determine what the main focus will be during each session.
