More About Coach Federico

I started my coaching career 7 years ago at the age of 17 while I was still playing. I have been assistant coach in professional basketball academies (from U12 to U18) and semi professional team (third division) in Italy. I have had the chance to coach French travel teams (U12 boys and girls, U14) while I was working in Paris for a basketball organization 2 years ago. Moreover, I run my basketball organization in Italy which plans basketball camps in all the Italian territory (local daycamp 100% in english). During summer I also partecipate to overseas camps in UCLA and Georgetown University. In summer I give basketball individual training , clinics and private lesson for kids of all ages.
I possess the Italian basketball coaching card and the USA Basketball Gold coaching license.
I have had the chance to coach and be on the field with incredible coaches during my experiences

I played 9 years in one of the most important basketball academy in Italy (Pallacanestro Varese) from U10 to U19 and one year in the Italian third division (semiprofessional league). Life choices brought me in different parts of the world and I had to quit playing but I have never stopped coaching.

I use my own personal experiences and knowledge to build up and create specific session for each player. I usually structure the workout after seeing characteristics, level and kid's requests on the first day. I like to understand what the guy wants and where he/she wants to get. I love to work and stress a lot on fundamentals in order for the kid to get better in a shorter period of time.
I highly recommend 1h/1h30m workout not more. Usually for kids and teens it is hard to keep the focus and intensity for more than this time. The session is structured with a first part of warm up including footwork, ball handling and shooting drills, a second central part with dedicated drills and exercise on the chosen fundamental. Finally a third part usually dedicated to shooting drills and special drills.
I love to create and set drills combining more fundamentals and make drills more exciting.
