The first session I have with any athlete is always to identify their strengths and weaknesses so I can plan out future training sessions to propel their development. Once the sessions begin, I always start off with a scientifically backed dynamic warm up for injury prevention, especially of the knee tendons. Next, we move into work with the ball, to create muscle memory and better prepare for the session. After, we do the main part of the session with various drills. This all depends on the player's age and skill level. Drills include combination passing, first touch, ball control, dribbling, shooting, improving weak foot, positioning (especially defensively), crossing and balance. An important aspect of my training sessions is doing the drill cleanly and properly, if that is achieved then we move on to increasing the speed and intensity of the drill. I also like to incorporate a bit of conditioning, but my main focus is to improve the players technically. At the end, I like to do a cool down incorporated with juggling or a game of soccer tennis.
