More About Coach Erin

I have experience coaching players who have never picked up a stick before from coaching my school's JV team and running youth summer camps. I also have experience with intermediate/advanced players from coaching our varsity team for 4 years. In addition, I have coached both an indoor and outdoor U16 and U19 club team. I have coached at prestigious recruitment showcases (Disney, White Mountain Sports / College connection) and summer camps. My range of coaching has given me an understanding of how skills need to progress from beginners to those looking to attend D3, D2, and D1 colleges. Having gone through the recruitment process myself and seeing my players go through it, I can offer my knowledge to facilitate that process for your player.

I am a 2009 UMass Amherst (Division I) graduate, where I played for 4 years. My junior and senior year we made it to the sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. I was named to the A-10 all rookie team my freshman year and the 2008 Fall Scholar athlete. I believe this demonstrates my deep knowledge of the game and understanding of what the most competitive field hockey looks like.

I have an eye for mechanics, so I tend to begin my sessions with basic skills, regardless of playing experience. A slight change in your step by 2 inches can change how you hit the ball. I can teach advanced skills like a reverse chip, pop/squeeze shot, and sweep hit. After going over basics, we put those into motion with drills. The drill depends on what the athlete wants to focus on. My philosophy is that you must get a lot of reps in and do them while you are tired because this represents how you will feel in a game. Every athlete needs a competitive drive, so we end with competitive drills (must get a certain number of reps in a certain time or we might keep score of a game). This can be done against me if it is a one-on-one session or within a small group.

Coach Erin was enthusiastic and engaging when she trained my daughter. She helped with some important skill building, gave great “homework” and provided strong, constructive feedback. We definitely recommend her.

Erin was great with my daughter they worked on improving her skills and teaching her new ones. I highly recommend her!

Coach Erin was wonderful with my daughter. She was extremely flexible about scheduling our session. My daughter came away from the session saying she already felt she had learned, knew what to work on, knew how to move forward.
Erin was enthusiastic, encouraging and extremely helpful!

Erin provided a great introduction to Field Hockey for my daughter!

Erin was a fabulous coach! She watched my daughter carefully, and gave her very specific and actionable feedback that left her feeling more motivated and excited about playing her first season of field hockey. Thank you!

Coach Erin was extremely helpful consistently throughout my sessions. She gave me drills to work on at home and during my lessons she definitley gave strong advice when it came to mechanics and small details on in my field hockey performance. I found my skills seriously improving after applying the tips she gave me. I would definitley recommend Coach Erin if you are looking to boost your field hockey skills, performance and boost your confidence.

My daughter really has come along way in just a few lessons with coach Erin! She is very upbeat, gives great technical instruction, knows how to relate with all types of kids, and overall conveys a love and enthusiasm for the sport of field hockey! I highly recommend her as a coach!

Erin's the best! My daughter had never played FH before meeting with Erin, and I cannot believe how far she came in a very short time. Erin is very good at deconstructing skills and identifying aspects of a given skill that need tweaking. I am a teacher, and it didn't take long for me to recognize that she, too, is a teacher. This is evident in both her personal interaction with kids as well as her ability to provide instruction in a way that resonates with them. Erin brought an energy to the sessions that pushed my daughter on the field and ensured their time was focused and goal driven. More importantly, my daughter had fun with Erin.

Coach Erin is just what the doctor ordered, incredibly professional, a problem solver and quick to assess problem areas of my daughters skill set and work on correcting them. Rachel is enthusiastic before and after each training session we have had with Erin.

Coach Erin is a great coach. In one session she covered the field hockey basics with my daughter and gave her drills to work on between sessions. Erin has a positive approach and clear vision of how to teach the skills of field hockey. We just booked 5 more sessions!

My daughters lesson with Coach Erin was great. My daughter has played field hockey for 4 years and stated that she learned a lot from Coach Erin in just one session. Coach Erin knew a great deal about all aspects of playing field hockey. I would highly recommend her.

Erin was terrific. She was kind and fun with the girls, but also gave tons of excellent feedback and tips. Kept them moving for the whole hour! We want to book more! Thanks Erin!
