More About Coach Emily

Catching is my specificity when it comes to coaching. While I finished my second degree at Grand Valley State University, I was named the catching coach by head coach, Doug Woods.
After I graduated I taught in Chicago, where I was the assistant varsity softball coach for two years.
Throughout my softball career, I have run many catching clinics for different programs throughout the state, mostly at high schools and Grand Valley.

I played 13 years of softball at all different levels. Starting when I was nine years old, I excelled at every position, until I finished my career at age 22.

I have listed all my softball accomplishments from both high school and college below.

4 years on varsity in high school
4 year all-conference in high school
4 year conference champions in high school

Coach Emily was great. She was able to work with both of my daughter's who are at different levels of talent without missing a step. I would recommend her to anyone looking to improve their game.

Emily is AMAZING! My daughter is really looking forward to working with her again.

Softball Coach Position I would like to recommend Emily Holt for the softball coaching position. As the former Head Softball Coach at Grand Valley State University, I have known Emily for four years as she was a member of our team. I have found her to be an individual with great moral character and integrity. Emily played four years for us and had a very good career culminating with being the starting catcher on our 2013 team that finished tied for third in the NCAA DII national tournament. Emily called all of our pitches and was truly a leader. Emily, when needed to be a team player to accomplish a task, understood this role and performed admirably. She has a great understanding of the game and made the right decisions on the field. She has a tremendous work ethic and passion for the game. I feel she will be able to transfer her passion to the players she is coaching. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the game in both the fundamentals and coaching strategies will help her be a successful coach. Also, as a graduate assistant coach one has to be loyal to the head coach and I know Emily will do this with no questions asked. Emily is a very good student and I am very confident in her graduate studies work. She was a member of the NFCA Scholar Athlete team. As with most softball teams fund raising and camps are part of the experience. Emily was very valuable to our program as she instructed in all of our camps. She was outstanding in these camps and had returning campers requesting to be in her group. It is without any hesitation that I recommend Emily to you because I know you will be pleased with her efforts. Sincerely Doug Woods Head Softball Coach (retired) Grand Valley State University
