More About Coach Edwin
I have been a soccer coach for nearly two years. Before becoming a soccer coach I was a personal trainer for three years. I have played soccer for most of my life. I have a U.S Soccer Grassroots certification. I have coached for soccer companies, in which I coached children the basic fundamentals of soccer as well as the more complexed side. At the ages of 2-11 years old. But I coach one on one lessons with kids from 5 years old and up.
I have played soccer on recreational and club teams since I was 8 years old in Virginia. I also played high school soccer. I won 3 division championships with my club teams. I was named captain of my club team for two seasons. I still currently play on a Sunday league. Although, I did not play college soccer I believe my Knowledge of the game is at a high level.
A typical session with me will start off with a warm up drill. After the warm up the player will stretch before starting our skill building drills. Every session is a bit different since all athlete develop at different rates. Depending on what the athlete wants to develop or what I see they need to learn more of will determine a session's plan. But the skill building portion of the session will consist of foot work drills, controlling ball, defense drills, passing, shooting drills, and any other drills that will help the players improve their skills. After the skill building portion of the session I will end sessions with a scrimmage that will help the athlete apply what they learned that session in a game like setting.
