More About Coach Ed

I have coached and trained young athletes in Baseball, Soccer and Basketball for over 12 years. I have been involved in coaching Club Basketball for the last 6+ years, with a specific purpose of preparation young men for their High School tryouts. I have an excellent track record of getting players onto their High School team and personally know many of the High School coaches in the Ventura, Conejo Valley and West Valley areas.

I played Football, Baseball, Basketball and ran Track in High School. While Baseball was my best sport, Basketball remains my favorite sport. I actually had scouts following me during my Junior year as a Pitcher. My sports career ended with shoulder and hip injuries during my Senior year.

I begin with a low cost evaluation to observe where the player is in his development. Among other things, we will review dribbling, shooting, floor movement/conditioning, etc. The player will receive a scorecard and a list of suggestions. The idea is to grade the player against his peers. To qualify this approach - I see hundreds of 7th & 8th graders each year, I know where a player should be in his development in order to compete at the High School level.

A regimen can then be put together to build up dribbling, shooting, defensive skills, etc. Strength and conditioning is also available.

While sessions can be held at an out door park to keep costs low, I have access to basketball gyms as well as a Fitness center Gym for more sophisticated and even group level training.

Client Reviews

We started with Coach Ed to get my son some training in hopes of making high school teams in the future. When my son first started he was very stiff out on the court and unsure of what to do when playing different positions. He was used to a free-for-all environment playing with his friends where they just try to get the ball and shoot. He has improved a lot. The practices are full of drills and there are opportunities for games on the weekends. Will never forget the first time my son sank a shot during a game, very cool.
