More About Coach Drew

Through playing lacrosse at a high level for the past decade, I have been able to develop a lot of knowledge and experience in the sport. I play the game at the highest level and have been coached by some of the best coaches in the country. I have also been able to develop a lot of experience coaching over the past few years. I am a young coach still playing lacrosse in college. Kids tend to learn well from young coaches that are still playing the game. I have had the opportunity to coach a large range of levels. I have coached kids that are just starting out, and kids that play lacrosse at a high level. I first started my coaching career when I was in high school. I volunteered to help coach my town lacrosse team, which is Hopkinton. This was a great opportunity to give back to the sport I love and to gain some coaching experience. Now for the past couple of years, I have been coaching for one of the best club lacrosse teams in the state of Massachusettes. Laxachusetts has a high reputation for developing successful players that move on to play at the college level. Laxachusetts has helped me gain experience because I have been able to work with excellent coaches that have helped me gain coaching techniques. Working with Laxachusetts has allowed me to work with many age groups ranging from third grade to high school. I am hoping to work with middle school to high school age groups in the cape cod area.

I have dedicated a lot of time and effort to the sport I love. This has allowed me to have a very successful high school career. I was a 3 time Central Mass All-Star, 2 time Worchester T&G super team, Worchester T&G POY, First team D2 All-state team, and All American. I ended my high school career with 157 goals and 66 assists. I played at Saint Johns High school, where we played many of the best talents throughout the MIAA. I am now currently playing lacrosse at Trinity College. We are in the NESCAC which means we play the best competition in Division 3 like Tufts, Wesleyan, Amherst, Bates, and Middlebury. The 2018 season was my first season as a freshman. I ended up starting and playing the whole year. I ended with 26 goals in 10 games, which was the highest on my team.

A typical session would depend on what the client needs to work on. I am an offensive minded coach, and I plan to work with offensive players. Each session we will work on footwork drills to help with dodging. Then we will work on dodges from either the middfield or the attack spot. When doing this I will teach and fix your sons dodging ability, which is the most import skill to have as an offensive coach. Then we will work at dodging and shooting on the run. And also working on shooting form. To do this your son will be able to take a lot of shot reps in front of me and I will correct his form and give tips to improve his shot. One of the things that have allowed me to help my players in the past is videotaping them shotting. I then show them their shot in slow motion to help correct form. Another thing that my clients will always work on is wall ball. I will teach them specific wall ball drills that should be done at home to help them develop the ability to catch and through with both hands
