More About Coach Delanie

I have played, coached, reffed, and spectated the sport. I know all angles of soccer. I have coached camps in high school for kids ranging 5 to 12 years old. In college, I started to ref high school games, male and female. I also hosted and coached camps through the college and club teams. I was a volunteer assistant coach for Kearney Catholic High School girls team for 3 years. I have coached for about 8 years, officiated for about 4 years, and played for 17 years. I have no certifications, as I just moved to Colorado and am willing to get whatever I need.

I started playing soccer when I was 4. Continued through high school, club, and went on to play at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. I have worked with kids as young as 5 to 20 years of age. I was elected captain for the 9 years of club, 2 years in high school and 2 years in college. I was awarded Player of the Year for club, Coach-able award in college, as well as a Senior Award. Was Class A honorable mention all-state and second-team SuperState. I was also the first lesbian to play for the women's soccer team at University of NE at Kearney.

I always like to get to know the athlete. What position they play, strengths, weaknesses, goals, etc. I start with a dynamic warm-up through 5-7 yards of cones: starting from 50% working their way up to 90%. I then progress to passing. Getting touches on the ball, working with both feet. Evaluating their technique with passing, controlling, and dribbling. I like to get the hard "boring" techniques out of the way first, then get into game like situations: 1V1, defending, shooting. At the end of a session I like to get conditioning in: timed mile run, gassers, 120's, 20-20-20, or shuttle runs.
I have stretching and water break throughout the session. Finishing with 10 push ups, 10 sit-ups, and about 7-10 minutes of serious stretching.

Client Reviews

I have worked with Delanie for about 3 years now. She has been our assistant coach here at Kearney Catholic. She has great vision for the team and helped us reach our goal making districts. She pushes players to give their best even when they are tired. Going to miss her next year.
Coach D really helped me control the ball. Training with her through high school, I developed confidence with the ball and increased my agility. I am now looking at college scholarship offers!
