More About Coach Danielle

Swim for fun, for health and for excellence!!

Hi there! My name is Danielle and I was a Division 1 Big Ten Collegiate athlete in swimming (Michigan State University 2003-2007). My specialties were in short distance backstroke and freestyle.

I trained in Europe, attended swim training clinics in Austria, Michigan, the Bahamas and Florida. I have experience as head coach for summer camps in Belgium. I was also head coach for the Special Olympics swimmers in St. Kitts, West Indies for 3 years while attending vet school.

A typical session with me includes stretching, dry land, warm up, main workout, cool down. I focus strongly on maintaining a healthy lifestyle outside of practice as well. I have special training in swim technique for all 4 strokes. My main focus for swimmers in the pool is technique and power. You must develop both in order to succeed in this sport.

Whether you are looking for a coach for you or your child, for first time lessons or honing technical skills for high level swimming, or in need of a coach for a special needs individual, I am here for you. Looking forward to working with you! I love swimming!

****** PLEASE NOTE ***** I HIGHLY recommend scheduling at LEAST 3 sessions with me if you are serious about your goals. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Alternatively, if you would just like to try out a session with me, please have a specific small goal to learn for the hour: example- "I want to learn how to float" or "I want to learn how to kick better." These are possible to learn in 1 hour, but to "learn how to better your swimming technique" takes time. Thank you for understanding.

Dani is the best Coach ever. She is extremely patient, kind, motivating and encouraging all the time. She provided me with useful feedback every time and helped me work on my techniques/postures. I had a great time taking swimming lessons with her. Absolutely recommend her to everybody!

Dani was awesome! I've just recently started getting back into swimming and she was perfect for where I was at. Provided very useful feedback based on my level and tailored the session to my goals/needs. Combines experience with friendliness and professionalism - glad to have her as a coach.

Danielle clearly knows swimming. She was a wealth of information which was both a positive and negative. She came to our lesson with plans to impart a great deal of information in a limited amount of time. However, by continually adding additional elements to the lesson, there was not enough time allocated to learn thru repetition.

Danielle is an exemplary coach. I'm swimming with her once a week (over the last several months) and the experience has been great. The workouts are interesting and challenging. Her stroke critique has made me faster and more efficient, especially on the non-freestyle strokes. She also does a great job in crafting the workouts to my current goals. For example, I am signed up for a triathlon in the June, so she has been working on my endurance and speed. On top of all that she makes it a breeze to fit sessions in around my work schedule. I would definitely recommend Danielle for anyone looking to improve their swimming or trying to just get back into the pool.

Swimming has always been a struggle for me, i've never been good at it and i give up quickly! After just spending one session with coach Dani she was able to improve my technique, improve my times, make me more comfortable under water and have fun while doing so... She's very knowledge and professional, and i highly recommend her!

I had a great session with you & would love more
