More About Coach Clay

My life was influenced by my father SGT Anthony "Peabody " Bazile from Rayne La. He coached basketball, football, and baseball for Sheppard Air Force Base ( Wichita Falls)TX from 1974-1976.So, I grew up shagging Balls, playing cup ball and the rundown drill, we learned early to amused ourselves. Growing up with a Coach as a father, I learned accountability for my play on the field. We practice long hours , which allowed me to learn so much, pushing myself to be the Best. I was selected to represent the Sheppard All-Star team(4Yrs) 1980 we played the Little League State Tournament in Waco, TX going 2-3, while staying at Baylor University. Great Times. I began coaching baseball (Sheppard Jets) in my senior season at Wichita Falls Hirschi High School1987, after their coach suffered medical issues. They started 0-3 on the season and we finished 5-3, we had 5 players made the SAFB All-Star team. We changed their attitudes, changed the process and built a team of ballplayers. Joining the Army in 1989-1997, I learned how to hit infield and outfield practice to Legendary Softball players, many Hall of Fame players, while playing the highest-level softball in the Army and Civilian side, playing big tournaments along the East Coast (Trenton, Belmar, New Jersey, Westminster Maryland, while being at All-Army Camp in FT. Indiantown Gap (Annville Pa) Throughout my softball Career, I've played in Korea, Japan, Germany and Bosnia and I'm a Historic Home Run hitter, who soldiers, teammates and friends still speak of my Longest BOMB 30+ years later in Bamberg Germany. Knowledge, Support and Actions to succeed have always been qualities in my life to share with others.
In 2007, I was an Asst Coach for my daughter's team Xplosion beginning with 8U-10U.Later, I coached with Randy Solorio, creating North Texas Coyotes Softball Program in 2014, I'm blessed to have over 30 girls playing or have played, at the next level. Currently coaching with !8U Athletics Mercado Garica from Denton Tx. I have worked with every age group on fundamentals, team cohesion, and togetherness, while holding them accountable for their play to get the best results.

We were overmatched by much better team; I had a great day of hitting and was upset for being told I was leaving the game. Before my at bat, I popped up to 2nd Base and jogged to 1st... My New York Yankee contract was gone. MESSAGE!!

My daughter has 13 rings from being under my direction as I coached her through her years and she finished her High School Career with 60 homeruns and earned her a spot playing for Arlington Baptist.

I begin with ball drills with no gloves, I specifically watch their technique to make sure fundamentals are secure. I watch their footwork and how they adapt to grounders and balls coming from different directions. I focus on specific drills and make sure we are constantly moving, learning and always improving. I try to do drills that are easy to do at home, to ensure the girls/parents can work on them at home. Also I like using Win Reality for the Oculus for pitch recognition, it's a great learning tool. I ensure whoever I have a lesson with understands the mental aspect of the game.
