I would start every session with a ball handling series that would change with each session, including 2 ball, heavy ball, resistance, stationary, and full court ball handling. I'll put them through a form shooting series, and focus on shooting mechanics, rhythm, and flow of their shot. After we're finished with those drills, everything will be game situation drills and decision making. Too many times, kids work on things that do not translate in a game and I want to change that. I will teach athletes how to play off a ball screen and the different actions and solutions that can be used. I will teach them how to read a close out, and put them in situations that will translate directly to the floor. None of my training sessions will be the same and will vary depending on skill level and be completely individualized to each athletes strengths and weaknesses.
