More About Coach Cathy

I and the Head Coach of Eclipse Track & Field Club and have been a Sports Performance Coach and Track & Field Coach for the last 5 years. I was an athlete previously and have experience in the areas of Sprints/Long Distance Running/Cross Country. I am also a certified personal trainer and a SAF Bikini Competitor. I coach athletes in Elementary and High School as well as Adults. I work with Athletes from all sports discipline to help them with Speed Training, Fitness Training, Cross Training and Track and Field. I am also the Director of Athlete Development for the Clarington Basketball Organization and work with several teams in our region.

I competed in the Toronto Area as a Master Athlete placing in the top 3 for the 100m and 200m in my age group and 1st in the 1500m in my age group. I completed the Tuff Mudder and Spartan Races. I am currently training for my first SAF Bikini Competition in October 2019 and will be training to compete in the Worlds Masters Track and Field Championships in Toronto in 2020.

We start off with a quick discussion to get a feel for what goals the athlete has and what they are looking for from me. I put the athletes thru a warm up with some dynamic and static stretches and then we go thru a bunch of technical drills designed to assess their current mechanics and analyze their running style and provide feedback on changes for improvements. Once the warm up is completed we go thru a set designed to help teach proper mechanics and form to be come more efficient at running or increasing speed. Once completed we end with a strength component which includes medicine ball drills and core training. We finish with a warm down and stretches and talk about the workout.

It was crazy seeing him run on the soccer field after two sessions and seeing his speed. He has never passed a kid in his life and he passed three who were running full out as well. We were impressed.
