More About Coach Casey

I have extensive experience coaching young football players. I trained 5 high school quarterbacks in the San Jose area in 2017. I have also trained a few quarterbacks in the Southern California area, one that started for Santa Fe high school and took his team to the playoffs. I have coached middle and high school football players. I have also worked with a few high-school receivers. The age group is typically 11-18.

I was a three sport athlete in high-school, playing football, basketball, and baseball. I was the starting quarterback for three years, earning team MVP twice, and offensive player of the league my senior year. I played college football for Humboldt State, a division two school, from 2011-2015. I was the starting quarterback from 2012-2015. I then played overseas in Berlin, Germany for a semi-professional team, the Berlin Bears.

My sessions begin with an overall assessment of the client. My goal is to build rapport and get to know the client a bit before we proceed in our work together. I gather the specific goals the client and/or parent may have to improve on their craft. I then conduct an assessment session, where I evaluate the athlete doing things like 3-step drops, throwing on the run, footwork, agility, speed, and knowledge of the game. After assessing client's areas of strengths and weaknesses, I develop a plan to build on those strengths and improve the weaknesses. The sessions to follow will be tailored towards those goals. For example, if throwing on the run is an issue, then the primary objective of most drills will be to improve that. Everything done in my sessions will be practical. That is, every drill will have a purpose, and will specifically simulate real game situations.
