More About Coach Britt
I've been involved in athletics and training my whole life. In 2012, I worked with The University of Alabama football program as a strength and conditioning intern. From there, I accepted an internship with Northern Illinois University, where I primarily worked with football and men's basketball. In January 2013, I became an assistant strength and conditioning coach at NIU, coaching women's cross-country and women's track and field, while also assisting with football, men's basketball, and wrestling.
While completing my Exercise Science degree at Northern Illinois, I had the opportunity to work with many individuals. I worked as a personal trainer at Oak Crest Retirement Center in DeKalb, Illinois and I obtained a certification for teaching elderly group fitness classes. I also worked as a strength and conditioning coach with the South Elgin High School men's bowling team.
In September 2014, I founded Real Strength Chicago. We exist to provide exceptional strength training to challenge and motivate our clients to improve their physical fitness. At Real Strength Chicago, we want you to Raise Your Bar, one rep at a time.
I've played sports my entire life, from little league football, basketball, and baseball to high school basketball and football. I also ran with a group throughout high school. In college, I walked on to the cross-country team where I earned a spot on the team. I ran both NAIA and Division 1 cross-country.
My sessions are unique to each individual. After an initial assessment, I create a specific training plan to meet their personal goals, whether it be weight loss, weight gain, improved strength, power, speed, and/or endurance.
A typical strength training session would include a dynamic warm-up followed by strength movements. For instance, I typically involve a power exercise, followed by strength exercises. I like free weights, squats, deadlifts, kettlebells, etc. My clients feel refreshed and energized after a workout.
