More About Coach Brenton

I have coach at the Navy Tennis Academy for 2 summers now during there three weeks of camp, I have given and assisted with several private lessons at the Petersburg and Winchester Country Club. I have also assisted with helping run several camps at both country clubs as well. I have worked with student from ages of 5 to 18. I am soon planning to work on my USPTA or PTR Certification

I was the 1st seed and captain for my high-school tennis team at the Appomattox Regional Governor's School. I received the "Athlete Of The Year" and "Coach's Award" my senior year. I am currently playing Division 3 Tennis at Shenandoah University as the number 2/3 seed. Outside of tennis I have also received blackbelt status as an Okwianan Karate-do Martial Arts student. I have compete and won several trophies in many tournaments.

Each session I would like to start off with the student doing some dynamic stretches , some quick fitness, hand-eye coordination drills, and then go on to the warm up. The warm-up would be some mini tennis(from the service lines) and then depending on the ability of the student have us use only three balls to see how many shots can be made between us. I would then do a similar warm up from the baseline. Each session may vary based on the needs of the student. The shot the students needs the most help with I would pay attention to. First work on technique and then have the engaged in an fun activity with me or compete if there is more than one student. I would the lesson with a cool-down and a discussion of what they have learned on that day.
