More About Coach Brandon

9th year of High School Track and Field Coaching.

I am capable of working with and training athletes of a variety of ages. I have coached Hurdles & Sprints @ Mira Mesa High School for 8 years going on 9 (Grades 9-12). I was also a coach for elementary and middle school kids for 6 years. Within that time, I have been able to work with and train 3 California High School State qualifiers (2 Sprinters & 1 Hurdler).

Coaching Sessions will focus on the basics and science of sprinting, incorporating Sprinting mechanics, understanding of drills, proper warm-ups and body activation techniques, etc. Speed is the #1 skill relative to every sport.

I finished 6th in San Diego in the 110m Hurdlers in 12th grade. I competed through High School and began coaching instantly after. I was Varsity Football for 3 years as a Wide Receiver and Varsity Track & Field for 3 years doing both the 110m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles, Long Jump, 4x100m relay, and Triple Jump.

All sessions will include GPS tracking (Monitor workout information, speeds, intensity, etc.) and video review.
First few sessions will consist of learning the basics. Understanding the most efficient sprint mechanics.

Once the mechanics are down, the goal is to make these mechanics autonomous and learning to incorporate them into full-speed sprinting.

Every session will consist of stimulus & exposure to full-speed reps and maximum effort sprinting. Progress and goals will determine the distance.
