More About Coach Brandon

Hello, my name is Brandon. I have been doing basketball training and coaching for 14 years now. I got my start training seriously about 2003 with my cousin, former NBA player Troy Hudson. By doing his training off season and some during the season this opened doors which allowed me to work with other NBA players. I have worked with players in the twin cities of all ages and levels. Ranging from middle school, high school, to pro both in the U.S. and overseas. I have coached AAU basketball for both girls and boys. Was an assistant coach for 2 years at Highland Community College, in Freeport Illinois, where i also played as well. Had the opportunity to be a assistant coach at Dakota County Technical College, under Hall Of Fame coach Jay Pivek. I currently am the assistant varsity coach at Eagle Ridge Academy and head coach for the JV team. I am also currently coaching boys 8th grade winter league for Edina.

I played Basketball at Highland Community College in Freeport, Illinois. Also spent a year at Nothern Illinois University in Dekalb Illinois. And went to Winona State University for a year to play.

In my sessions i like to work on techniques, shooting, footwork, and cardio. Love to focus on getting athletes balanced. Meaning, being strong with both left and right hand. Think all basketball players need to be able to dribble with both hands and be able to finish around the basket with both hands. Workouts start with up close shooting right under the basket to try and develop touch, gradually moving further out to enhance shooting range. Cardio is put in the mix as well. I teach players to be able to play at the end of the game the same way you start the game. I also like to focus on running the pick and roll correctly, its a lost art but will get the job done everytime!

Client Reviews

Coach Brandon was great. My 10 year old son, just had his first session with him, and after just one 60 min. session I could already see the improvements in my son's ball handling. Coach Brandon understands the fundamentals and is a great teacher. He is patient, shows encouragement, friendly, and engaged in every aspects of my son's session. Not only that, but from the minute I walked in the door, Coach Brandon introduced himself and asked me what I would like to have my son focus on and he followed through during the entire session in order to improve my son's skill set in this area. I just signed up for 10 more sessions with Coach Brandon.... he is definitely worth the extra couple of dollars per session.
