More About Coach Blake

I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and I coach athletes of all levels and sports. Originally from Gladstone, Queensland, Australia, I have participated and coached in various sports from an early age such as, soccer, rugby, surf life-saving, cross country, track, lacrosse, volleyball, etc. I was an NAIA collegiate athlete for Montreat College for four consecutive years (soccer), and during my master's program, I worked with the University of Tampa's Men's and Women's NCAA DII soccer teams. Most recently, I have been working with GCU's (NCAA DI) Men's Soccer team as a professional intern. Most of my experience is with college athletes. However, I worked at Saddlebrook Performance (Tampa, FL) training adolescents through professional athletes in a variety of sports, and I am currently working at FAST (Foothills Acceleration and Sports Training). I am extremely motivated in all disciplines of sports and athletic performance and would like to help my athletes achieve their goals.

I was a scholarship NAIA soccer athlete for Montreat College (Montreat, NC) from 2013-2017. We made the AAC tournament every year. During the summer I played for the Tri-City Otters PDL team. When I was in Australia, I played in the Central Queensland Premier League for 4 years, but I have been playing soccer for 21 years.

My sessions can be highly customized based on my client's athletic performance goals/strengths/weaknesses. Typically, the first session I would incorporate an evaluation to get a better idea of how we can proceed, but the strength and conditioning methods I would incorporate depend upon the athlete's sport and position they want to train for. As a coach, I not only want to improve my athletes in every session, but teach them solid fundamentals that will help them outside my sessions. Injury prevention is one of my top concerns, and I address it by ensuring that range of mobility exercises are part of the sessions, as well as, exercises that will not put the athlete at risk--especially if they are in season. Every client is starting in a different place, with a different foundation, and so I take that into consideration when making a personalized plan.
