More About Coach Balash
I have been coaching soccer for the last 17 years. I have coached several teams in Australia and USA including: Fusion FC (a girls premier league team U-17) for 3 years, and Co-Coaching with Italy's AC- Milan youth coaches at Arlington Summer Camp (2008). I also used to coach for Boston Soccer Academy and Progress in Clinics (4-14 years old boys and girls) as well as summer camps (9-16 years old boys and girls) and for Lexington United. I am able to coach all levels (beginners, intermediate and advanced) in a professional manner. I adjust the drills and games according to the players needs and abilities in a fun yet concrete approach. Currently, I coach at BB &N School in Fall.
I grew up in Tehran-Iran playing street soccer but I started play a more structured soccer for a local club in Sydney-Australia. I also played a short term in Sydney's State league but because of injury dropped back to local games. One of my teammates at that time was Ernie Campbell, the former Australian International, which was a privilege for me. In US I played in NEOTHSL for 5 years.
My routine soccer session sample depends on age and skill level of the children. For instance, for a U14 Div 3 travel team, I start with constructed jugging (skipping, side judge, power walk, knee taps, zig zag, etc). Then we go to stretches (for instance: quads, butterfly, hamstring, and so forth). Sometimes we do recreational games such as tags for cardio. (so the warm up is 15 minutes). Then it is foot works such as foundations, tip toes, cut bags, drags. Then passing sequence. which starts from simple passing to bouncing, volley pass, triangulation, v pass etc.(those should take about 15 minutes). Depends on a day I adopt or modify different drills for skill improvement. For instance, if the goal is to reinforce defending and passing in a tight space, then a Southampton box will be efficient drill. If the goal is to empower their shooting (plus keeper exercise) then power and finesse would be just a fine drill. (20 minutes) The last 30 minutes I usually set scrimmage. Every 15 minutes I give 3 minutes water break.

Client Reviews
Lynne (CoachUp client)
My son had a great time training with Coach Balash. Coach Balash honed in on the skills my son needed to work on, gave him great advice & correction, but most of all my son had fun. He also suggested a plan for future training to keep working on his skills. Thanks again for a great session.

My son had a great time with Coach Balash and learned some new skills right away! He provided a good mix of drills, conditioning, goalkeeping, and other practice. My son is excited to keep working with Coach Balash.

Balash was great with my daughter. We look forward to working with him again.

Coach Balash was a pleasure to work with. He is flexible and responsive and very friendly. He's not the type of coach to just stand on the side and direct the player. He provides ongoing feedback but is also very interactive, involved in the drills and responsive to the player's needs. He worked very well with our 10 year old daughter who said she felt like she learned a lot during the session while also having fun with her coach. Balash also made excellent use of our space, setting up drills not only on the turf but also making great use of the adjacent tennis court for some additional drills.
Susan (CoachUp client)
Coach Balach has been very helpful to teach my son the rules and techniques of soccer. He's encouraging and supportive.
Judy (CoachUp client)
My son was very happy with Coach Balash. He felt at ease with the coach. Coach Balash was very prompt at answering emails and texts. He was very flexible and accommodating time changes. Coach Balash was always on time to sessions, and kept my son fully engaged. I would highly recommend Coach Balash.
