More About Coach Ariel

I have held informal coaching and training sessions with athletes of all age groups, ranging from 1st grade students to college soccer team athletes. Groups and individuals I’ve worked with
Include:

College level (Queensborough CC, CUNY, Division 3)
High School level
Middle School level
Elementary school level

Some of my industry certifications include:
- Licensed Grassroots 4v4 Youth Soccer Coach (player ages 6-8), US Soccer Learning Center
- Certified Level 1 Developmental Goalkeeper Coach, United Soccer Coaches
- Certified CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid
- Certified completion of course; Introduction to Safe And Healthy Playing Environments
- Certified completion of course; SafeSport

Player:
I played for my old High school’s soccer team (Queens HS of Teaching). In college, I was a goalkeeper for the Queensborough CC men’s soccer team, during the 2019 season. We made it to the CUNYAC Community College men’s soccer team final against rival team BMCC. We ended the season with a record of 6 wins, 6 losses, and 0 draws.
Beyond my college career, I trained and practiced with different amateur teams in New York. Some notable examples include Athletic Union FC, a team which competed in the Long Island Soccer Football League (LISFL). I also trained with Queens Park Rangers FC and Flushing FC, both competing in the Cosmopolitan Soccer League (CSL)

Coaching:
I had informal coaching with the current QCC men’s soccer team as we prepared for the 2021 season. The season was a success as the team brought the championship back to QCC, defeating Bronx Community College (BCC) 3-0. The team ended the season with a record of 6 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw.

I strongly believe in the importance of being physically prepared for playing soccer.

1 on 1 session will consist of:
General warming up (e.g. jogging, some lunges, high knees, arm circles, sprints, etc…)
Stretching (e.g. arm stretching, leg stretching, etc…)
Goalkeeper distribution, catching and handling (footwork passing, throwing (underarm, overarm overhead, etc...)
The main part of training sessions will focus on:
Fitness, speed, reaction, reflexes, endurance, and goalkeeping essentials (diving, passing, handling, positioning)
This part of training depends on the player’s age group and level (e.g. in goalkeeping ability and fitness level). A goal post is very helpful, but a good training session can be done without it as well.
Equipment included: Soccer balls, Agility ladder, Flat soccer Cones.
Training ends with a cool down and stretching to help with muscle recovery.
