More About Coach Antwain

In May 2012, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management from Johnson C. Smith University. Upon graduating, I interned at Winston-Salem State University's Athletics department, where I organized half-time events and reached out to potential sponsors for the head coaches to discuss partnership opportunities with WSSU Athletics.

With my certification from Sports Management Worldwide and training under NFL Agent Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, I possess a comprehensive understanding of player association legalities, contract negotiation, endorsements, ethics, collective bargaining agreements, draft preparation, marketing, recruitment, and more. Let me leverage this proficiency to enhance your organizational success.

As a certified sports agent, I bring over two decades of experience in organized sports as an athlete, coach, and team manager from prep school to college level. My expertise includes mentoring high school students to secure academic or athletic scholarships. I am excited about sharing my passion and knowledge with your athlete.

Facilitated the acquisition of academic and athletic scholarships for over 20 high school students, enabling their pursuit of higher education.

Negotiated contracts ranging from $2,000 to $50,000 per month on behalf of clients, demonstrating exceptional negotiation skills and securing optimal outcomes.

Spearheaded efforts that enabled over 500 NCAA D1 and D2 division athletes to transition into professional basketball careers in numerous countries worldwide.

A typical session will be:

Endurance: You have to be in shape if you plan on being an athlete in general for any sport.
Footwork: (1 on 1 Ball Tough Drill)-This is a great drill that emphasizes ball rips and strong pivots to create space from the defense. As a result, players will get stronger with the ball and turnovers will be reduced.
Drop Step Counter: 1. Drop Step Towards Baseline, Inside Pivot, Jump Shot, 2. Drop Step Towards Middle, Inside Pivot, Jump Shot
Ball Handling/eye coordination: Dribble While Catching Tennis Balls.
Rebounding: (Taps Drill): This drill improves ball control and rebounding around the hoop. You also improve your jumping.
Ray Allen Shooting Drill: There are 5 lines. From each line, there are 5 spots. This is approximately the distance on each shot: Spot 1 - 4, Feet, Spot 2 - 8 Feet, Spot 3 - 12 Feet, Spot 4 - 16 Feet, and Spot 5 - 20 Feet. You have to make a shot from spot 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 in 5 consecutive shots in order to advance to the next line. If you miss from any of the spots, you start over in that line. If you miss a shot in line 3, you start over from line 3. You don't go back to line 1. Your goal is to finish all 5 lines in 2 minutes.
Free Throws: End the session shooting 10 free throws. You have to make 50%-70% of your shots before leaving.

Great coaching

Very professional. Knows his stuff. Very highly recommend Coach Antwain. He is an excellent coach

I highly recommend Antwain Peay for his exceptional work ethic. I have known Mr. Peay throughout my entire high school experience at West Forsyth, where I graduated in 2022 and will soon graduate from college. Throughout these years, Mr. Peay generously dedicated countless hours to enhance my basketball awareness and skills, often without compensation. He also provided opportunities for me to participate in learning experiences, such as assisting with player interviews and draft preparations. His deep knowledge of basketball, coupled with his kindness and relentless work ethic—sometimes working seven days a week—has been a tremendous inspiration to me at just eighteen years old. I aspire to emulate his dedication someday. I have witnessed Mr. Peay's impact across three organizations: Coach Up, Baseline Sports, and Legal Shield. Over these four years, I have consistently heard praise from his colleagues about his significant contributions to each organization. His influence within these companies has left a profound impression on me, motivating me as I enter college to strive for similar accomplishments.
Antwain and I were classmates at Johnson C. Smith University, where we both took a Communications course together. Not only was he an exceptional student and scholar, but he also excelled as a mentor, a role he continues to embody. Antwain possesses both leadership skills and a remarkably personable demeanor, qualities rare in the entertainment and sports industries. His dedication is evident in his efforts, both during college and beyond, in recruiting new members for Pre Paid Legal and pursuing his ambition to become a leading sports agent. Antwain remains a formidable presence in his field.
Thanks to my mentor Coach Antwain through Coach Up and Countless hours helping me in my skills development and basketball IQ.
I've been working with Antwain for about almost two years. He is always working for me, sending out my information to different teams. He also keeps in touch & communicates with me to let me know what he is doing and who he is connecting with for me. I was signed with an agent, before him, for almost a year and she got me nothing. I connected with Antwain and within a few months he had a job for me. I'm grateful to have met and connected with him.
Antwain has shown the utmost professionalism and work ethic needed from an agent, he is relentless in his pursuit of getting the best work and exposure for his clients; prospective clients should be inclined to pursue Mr. Peay for representation.
Antwain is a dedicated basketball enthusiast and has generously been willing to use his time to help many young basketball players to become better players as well as to become better individuals. We need a lot more people like Antwain so that the next generation has someone to look up to.
I had the pleasure of working with Antwain at Camp Chipinaw during the summer of 2014. Antwain is a knowledgeable individual with an unrivaled passion for the game of basketball. He is personable and approachable which allows him to be successful. The enthusiasm and dedication he shows makes him an outstanding person to work with. I am appreciative for the opportunity I had to work with him and I am hopeful that we can again work together in future endeavors.
Great guy! Works hard for his clients!
